It's surprising that a band that makes millions in record sales using their own format would change their music due to a few critics' remarks. I have every Coldplay album and thought I would continue to buy each one until they stopped making music. Sara is probably very disappointed, she's the one I listened to Parachutes with in the office, when we both fell in love with Coldplay. Their next albums were amazing as well but what is this? Besides the instrument arrangements which are pretty decent, there is nothing else of substance in this album that even resembles the standard any of their old work. I had high hopes for this record but have to say it let me down. There are a few good songs, but to me, most of it just sounds like filler material, and alot of it sounds more like 80's arena rock than country. I actually like the bonus tracks better than the main CD. After Ashton Shepherds release this year, this CD doesnt measure up.

First let me state that I almost always refuse the trend to give a recording 5 stars merely because I enjoy it. I reserve 5 stars for those I find remarkable. I had to play this CD 3 times (now 4) the 1st day to confirm my initial awe.

Wynton and Willie are 2 artists that I'd given up on, was a huge fan of both many years ago but had lost interest as both had settled into comfortable, but unspectacular or predictable recordings. Upon reflection though, this pairing isn't as odd as it first seems. They are smart to find the common ground that they share - the Blues - and it works. This is Emmylou at her best. I am a great fan and I may be a little biased but I think she just gets better with each new album. This album reminds me of some of her early stuff and was glad to see some of the peaple on the album with her, especially "Billy Joe Shaver". They had a great "duet". I would recommend this album to any "country music" fan.

Rock n Roll Jesus

I'm normally not a big fan of Kid Rock, but the third track was getting so much air time on the radio over here in Germany that I decided to check it out. He's got a great mix of blues, soul, rock, and country. Loved the irreverent religious spin he put into packaging and in the lyrics. Not every track is solid, but 75 percent of the are great, and these days it's hard to find an album that offers that. I paid in Euros at a German music store, so the Amazon price is a great value.

Miley truly outdid herself with this CD. It is by far her best album yet. Her voice has really matured, and she puts so many emotions and feelings into her songs. They are all really catchy and I love listening to them all. My favorite song off the album is definitely "Goodbye". Even though it is the saddest song on her CD, her vocals are incredible and the lyrics are very well written. I can picture what she's singing in my head. This CD shows that Miley just wants to be herself. People will definitely recognize her by Miley Cyrus now and not Hannah Montana. This CD will probably appeal more to teens and adults since the songs are more mature, and they are all mostly about relationships.
