This work really puts the Gospel to life. I've read many of these passages before, and with the music behind it the Word totally spoke to my heart. We need more of this especially with JP2's voice. So soothing, loving and totally lifts me up to the Father in Heaven.

I bought this for my 8 year old who is struggling with his tables. He doesn't really care for the songs. I listen to it more than he does! I play it in the car, so maybe by the time my 5 year old gets to 3rd grade she'll know her tables from the songs. The songs are actually quite good, though some parts are a bit corny. You follow aliens as they go on a multiplication vacation around Earth. The songs are about different places, constellations, historical figures, so the kids can learn more than just their multiplication tables. It's a pretty long CD and the lyrics are not designed for quick memorization, so this is not an overnight fix for a struggling student. I have this one and the Multiplication Vacation. My kids seem to love the songs and story telling. As an adult, I think it cheesy, but my 4 year old asks to listen to googol power and then sings along. So I guess it's working.

I'm not sure why some of the reviewers write that this CD is not like the original. I still have my album (white jacket, poster and everything) and a turntable on which to play it...this CD sounds EXACTLY like the original...minus the few wear and tear sounds of my 30 something year old album.

I was excited to finally find a CD version so I could add it to my MP3 player.

I always found this was one of those recordings (talking about the entire set of tracks) that you should listen to alone and in a quiet place. Since it's primarily a recitation of poems and such; having others around talking really becomes annoying.

Despite the heading on the CD (by AMAZON) this a collection of studio cuts, and it is not live. If you want Freberg LIVE! go buy the Radio Show THE STAN FREBERG SHOW. This collection is an import collection of the British EMI Comedy series.

Having said that, it ain't a bad collection of Frebergian nuggets, though STAN FREBERG MASTER SATIRIST is much better with the selections.

Legends of the 20th Century

This CD has alot from the box set but selects nice short pieces which show Kerouac's funny side too. I'm from Lowell Mass and am definitely biased having read some of part of almost all of Jack's books. Jack's voice has it's own unique New England/Canuck canter and accent which you have to experience. He doesn't speak alot of Quebequa(sp?) as he does in the wonderful bootleg Dr. Sax readings, but if you can't afford the box set one of these single cd's is a great alternative.
