This album is all Madonna...one of her best in quite some time. Much better than American Life, Music. I actually enjoy all the songs on here....however my favorites are "Devil" "She's Not Me" "Incredible" "Beat" "Dance 2night" and "Miles Away"

This will definitely be a very polarizing album.
Third seems to have more in common with NIN's esoteric offerings than any previous Portishead music. It's certainly a very interesting album, for sure. Very interesting. But the warm, muddy, groovyness that was Portishead is gone. Totally absent are any sort of bassy beats and trip-hop rhythms. There's none of that. Even spy guitars are on short order.
Trip hop has died, and instead of trying to revive that sound for risk of beating a dead horse, they've again created a type of music which does not exist. This time it's cold, off-putting and alienating. It's too strange and well thought-out to suck, but too appallingly creepy to be considered good by most people. On ... Read More:

Had a problem not getting the first delivery. Called and talked to a customer rep. Was helpfull but in the past the reps were more helpful.

Geez, I'd heard SO much about this so I decided to order the single. That was, perhaps, a mistake. The first two mixes--DEFINITELY the only from Dirty XL--are fine; after that, it's all downhill. I will have to agree with one other reviewer, Tracy Young's mix is just tired and Peter Rauhoffer's isn't much better. I expected so much more from them and was very disappointed in their inputs; neither delivered. I had hoped for a remix by Offer Nissam but that wasn't to be.
I'll wait for the release of the CD/album--whatever you want to call it. I just hope that if there are other songs remixed from it, they turn out better than the majority of these. Not worth your money except for the remix by Dirty XL.

She sounds more like M.I.A. on "Creator" with a OOIOO/Blonde Redhead type vocalizing thrown in. On "L.E.S. Artiste", her phrasing/voice is very Karen O, who has that Siouxie Sioux tension. Furtado is a lot looser, without the staccato tempo or pop punk sensibility. The two almost Stefani moments are when she sings "I can say I hope" and "Change, change, change..." Otherwise, Stefani's voice is way more nasally with a cutesy strained effect (like when she sings "I know what you're saying" in Don't Speak).

Recently Mariah has been in the news breaking records set by the good ole boys (Elvis and the Beatles) and it's so nice to see her comeback to No. 1 again, besides she's looking great with the return to the charts.
The Glitter years are behind her now (her lowest point during her career) and she showed us how to brush yourself off and get right back up.
This collection reminds us of why we first fell in love with her in the first place. WE LOVE YOU GIRL!!

Robyn's 1st American release, "Robyn Is Here" was not a musical revelation, but her voice was very well-showcased. The songs were melodic, allowing her to begin adding very well executed embelishments on the later verses in each song. The music wasn't overtly intricate, but it was enjoyable over repeated listening because of her excellent vocal individuality and personally sung background vocal arrangements.
This new album is not about Robyn at all, because she is so hidden behind all of the NOISES (not music) that box in her voice. Instead of giving us more true songs to enjoy, we now get 3 verses of rap (which isn't very inspired or ground-breaking), and then we get a chorus that is actually sung in her voice. So which is it? Is she a singer, or a rapper? Can't be ... Read More:
