Wow, didn't we all have high expectations for this CD. Ms. Hudson is lucky to have won an Oscar ~ if not, this CD would be in the bargain bins tomorrow assuming she could have garnered a record deal without it. Yep, she's got a promising voice but her team really misguided the machine and the final product is a mish mash of yelling, screaming, hollering, etc. Okay, it has its moments but I fear her singing career (as a recording artist) is off to a hugely bumpy start.

What I love about Robin is that he doesn't give you the same old same old that you hear with everybody else! He steps out of the box.. the music is different with every song he even changes the way in which he sings the songs in the next track! A lot of artist don't do that! With some albums every song and the music sounds the same especially when their produced by the same person you can totally tell! Not with Robin... he takes the time to develop each and every song into it's own carefully mastered piece! For that he is a geneious! Why has this man been hiding behind other artist for so long is beyond me! Love this CD!

This cd is so smooth and sexy. It's what Usher meant for his recent cd to be! Ne-Yo continues to put out great cds that are sexy, tasteful, and easy to listen to. I have been so disappointed with cds that I have bought lately....Usher, Jennifer Hudson, Craig David for example. This cd was a breath of fresh air. I love everything NeYo and Stargate do for any artist, but I even like the tracks with other producers. While NeYo does not get the props and sales or dance moves of Chris Brown, Omarion, Akon, Tre Songs, Mario, J Holliday or Usher....but I would bet on NeYo having a much longer career and songs that stand the test of time.
Well done again...Definitely distances him from the current crop of R&B male singers and his songwriting is always ... Read More:

I am hypnotized by this Duffy. Not in a hypnotize by biggie kind of way, but in a 60's downtown gretna way. This CD is pure as snow before people drive on it and make it dirty or relieve themselves on it. I was introduced to Duffy, like most others, when I heard the song Mercy. I go to the gym four days a week (six when I have a date) and Mercy is a great song to go 14 miles on the treadmill to. I just put it on repeat and go. My favorite track though is not Mercy, which probably surprises you after what I just said about it. I like Rockferry. That track takes me back to Gretna in the 60s when double decker buses drove people around and dropped them off at the bowling for a night of shenanigans and tomfoolery.

The orchestrations on these recordings are wonderful. Listen, especially, to the bass on "Coffee Time" and the piano on "Come Rain or Come Shine." That our Miss Cole is a wonderful singer cannot be disputed; her diction and nuance are perfect. My only complaint -- and it's a small one -- is that there are too few "up-tempo" songs. I'd love the collection even more if there were a little more pep to it. I'll admit I was on the prowl for such because I'm biased -- my favorite song on the Unforgettable album is "Avalon," a perfect example of what Miss Cole can do with quick lyrics and a faster beat.

Like many of you, I heard the "need u bad" song on tv and thought wow! So I got the cd but after that track (no2 on the cd), the whole thing feel apart for me! It's like the album peaked too soon. Track 1 (bust your windows), message notwitstanding, is a nice opening song, as far as listenability but by track 2 the album already reaches a crescendo and it's flat all the way down to the bottom followed by some dredging.
I think the production crew rested on its laurels and just phoned in the other tracks. It's a travesty to compare Jazmine with Laren Hill. She didin't show herself strong enough to carry an album by herself! This would have been great if she'd followed up and made some more reggae songs with some infectious beats and some massive collabos with MCs out ... Read More:

I read a glowing review by Christgau and decided to take a shot based on Amazon's ridiculously low price ($7.99?!). What a terrific record. Like a collection of great Motown singles that haven't yet been killed by constant radio rotation over the last 40 years. Not a clunker on the album, although I can do without the pointless Jay-Z enhanced version of "Oh Girl". But heck, if it gets someone to listen to the record that might not otherwise, fine.

Pop superstar Rihanna's third album, Good Girl Gone Bad, was without a doubt her biggest CD yet. And the re-release of it, with three extra tracks, has been even more successful. Of course, there is no mystery as to why. The answer can be summed up in one word: "Disturbia". This jumpy tune, and its catchy synth beat, are taking the nation by storm at the moment--but the rest of the album (including the songs from last year) cannot be overlooked in "Disturbia"'s wake.
Overall this is a very solid pop/R&B album, with a mix of energetic dance tracks and wispy slow jams, and of course "Umbrella" which falls somewhere in between. "Question Existing" was one of her more emotional and interesting cuts, but it hasn't been released as a single yet, so not as many people can appreciate it. ... Read More:

I absolutely adore this album. I am not too crazy about Amy Winehouse herself and her real-life rehab experiences but this album is just amazing. All the songs are so heart felt, so real, so full of emotion. I prefer some of the less popular songs to the ones that had huge commercial success.
