Overall an excellent collection of classical favorites and for $3.99 its a steal, but strangely there is not a single Beethoven composition in the CD.

I simply adore this CD. The compilation is great. It has uplifting moments and soothing moments. My baby is still in the womb and so I can't tell you if the enjoyment is there or not but I heard they can hear from in there and it seems very serene for now. I'd love a sequel.

CD has a good selection of songs, particularly for a formal wedding; however the last 5 songs on my CD were garbled so I can't evaluate those.
Worth the money, and I would buy again (hoping that the entire CD was clear and easy to understand.

As in previous issues of Mozart and Bach, this one is a winner. A sampling of a number of different works (symphonies, string quartets, concedrtos, piano sonatas...)reveal first rate performances in all cases I have sampled. The recording is also great. So, really no downside to this set at the price offered.

I use this as an opportunity to listen to lesser known works, and to compare the great ones with other recordings I have. I suppose I should not be surprised to find that there are Beethoven works out there that I do not care for at all (Examples: Various folk and national songs). But the time honored great works are there as well as all the other.

A Beethoven lover should not miss this chance.

We had an outdoor wedding and used this CD, along with one other CD (The Complete Wedding Album), for our music selections. Between the two CDs - we had all of our pre-wedding music and our processionals covered. I preferred the Chorus on this CD to the other. Between the two, there was a nice selection of various, popular choices for modern and classic weddings.

Okay first things first. This new recording of the English version of Haydn's Creation oratorio goes right to the fav shelf. There you will also find several German language versions, plus a few English ones. Old favs tend to be big bands with conductors like Marriner/ASMF first set, Harnoncourt/Vienna SO first set, Munchinger/Vienna PO, Dorati/RPO, Rafael Fruhbeck de Burgos on EMI. Newer favs tend to be period or smaller bands.

In English, the recorded competition boils down to two worthy contenders, both out of print and/or hard to find. One is on EMI with Sir David Willcocks leading King's College (starring Heather Harper, Robert Tear, and John Shirley-Quirk). Vivaldi's Cello

Yo-Yo Ma, performing Vivaldi on a period Cello with accompaniment from Ton Koopman, offers unique and engaging renditions of a number of Vivaldi pieces. The clarity and power of the overall sound on this compilation are amazing.

I enjoy the tracks in the "middle" of the album (Concerto in B-flat Major for Cello, Strings and Basso continuo, RV 423/III. Allegro - Laudamus Te from Gloria, RV 589) the most.

Highly recommended as a lasting addition to anyone's "classical" music collection.
