I love the music for the show. It is lyrical and emotional. One does not need to understand French to follow the pathos of the story. Fortunately, however, the DVD does offer the choice to have English subtitles. I have now watched this video 3 times and the parts of it I loved the first time I love even more now.
My complaint with this DVD is not the show but the editing. I have no idea what this show really looks like. I think the choreography is spectacular but, again, who knows. The film editing is done in MTV style, a cut to a different angle every 15 seconds. The staging for this show is huge which befits Notre Dame. There's a lot of composers who wrote pieces especially suited for students. Many of those pieces are relatively "easy" to play, but are also very beautiful compositions. These pieces, and their composers, deserve to be discovered by a larger public. Thanks to Ytzhak Perlman.
I recommend this album to any violin student of any age.

Requiem: Fortissimo

Truly outstanding release from this very talented band that I am just getting to know. Mezzo Forte was my first Virgin Black purchase, and it has hardly left my CD player since I bought it. Fortissimo is at least the equal of mezzo forte, if not better. I actually prefer the heavier style most of the time, and the raw emotion felt here throughout the record is exceptional.

I have started a collection of Klezmer music and I have never been disappointed by what I have found here on Amazon. The music is such an intricate part of the Jewish culture and this particular CD will alternately squeeze your heart and make your clap your hands...awesome!

Authentic Israeli Folk Songs and Dances

Hava Nagila was about the only good song on this CD in my opinion. Most of the tracks are music tracks that sound very much like the one before it. I guess that's okay if that is what you were looking for, but I was hoping for more songs with words. I played it once and tossed it in a storage box (my garage sale box).

Music was good....quality of the CD was poor. Low volume and not much bass. Every time the CD comes up, I have to readjust the stereo.
