This CD really blew me away from the first note to the last. Each and every song fills my soul. What an awesome bunch of musicians. I would have loved to have experienced the sessions with them. Amazing.

Amazing work of fusion the boss would have been proud of.

'So What' has always been my favourite and the way it has been improvised in this CD is just marvellous.

For fans of Shakti there is 'Miles from India' with jaming by the dynamic Shankar Mahadevan and the amiable John Maclauglin.

Truly amazing album in the league of Bitches Brew.

I was inspired to order this CD after seeing the movie La Vie en Rose about the colorful life of Edith Piaf.
My aim was to hear the real singer rather than the actress in the film.
This CD contained many examples of Ms Piaf's music. The sound quality was excellent and the music enjoyable.
Much of it was familiar, popular songs heard on the radio growing up. The singing is in French and there is no translation in the CD jacket, however this is a small defect.

I have all of Jesse Cook's music (except his Montreal CD which was just a live performance of some of his music). He's a great musician (I also have seen him live, and plan to see him again in July 08). As to the CD, if you have heard his music, you will like the CD. It's a little fast in a couple of songs, and there is some actual singing on one song (Spanish), but mostly it is guitar music with nice background percussion and occasionally some string instruments. He's a innovative musician (with a sense of humor) that has created an easy going, pleasant background music (I pick and choose some of his music for massage background music).
