This record contains some of Marley's most famous songs such as Jamming, Waiting In Vain and of course Exodus. Beautiful writing and performances throughout the record and People Get Ready is steller. This is one of the best recvords ever recorded and stands up decades later. You really cannot go wrong with any Marley recoord, but this record and Legend (a compilation) are two good ones. Exodus is wonderful, but Legen has many of the hits from Exodus plus some other great tracks such as No Woman No Cry, Buffalo Solider and Redemption Song (probably my favorite Marley song of all of them.)

I received this tape and a Yani tape and neither of them work. I tried them in several places and they still did not work. I am extremely disappointed since I spend a lot at this site and have been happy in the past with books I have bought. This is my first time with CD's. I will send them back soon.

Putumayo's "Cafe Cubano" is the latest in the world music's cafe series,and so far,the best. While Italian&French Cafe are bland collections, the Cuban one is a savory blend of old and new music. The compilation is like a mojito-a cold limeade with the extra kick of rum. There's even a recipe--a mojito dipping sauce made with lime,lemon&orange juices.

"Cafe Cubano" opens with Jose Conde y Ola Fresca's "El Chacal",a jazzy critique of Che Guevara. Conde is an alum of Boston's Berklee College of Music, but one wonders if this song will go over well in nearby Cambridge, with its Proletarian thrift shop&its Communist-themed bar. i've really been enjoying this c.d.,especially the rhythm section,but the piano is flawless.thank god ruben cut this album before he passed on. he is considered one of the top 3 pianists to ever come out of cuba.put this c.d. on,lite up a nice cigar,and it really transports you!!

Others have amply covered the virtues of this album. The songs are good, but what really sets it apart is Bebo and Cigalla's phrasing. They're just brilliant. I have tried to remove the disk from the CD player, so far without success.

Released in March of 2007, Watina is a beautiful tribute to Garifuna music and culture. It is also the final album of Belizean musician Andy Palacio, who died in January of 2008 at the age of 46 from respiratory failure. Palacio's death highlights the importance of his purpose in this collaborative work: to preserve and revive the Garifuna language and culture.

The Garifuna (plural, Garinagu) are descendants of Amerindians and Africans. After shipwrecked slaves mixed with Caribbean tribes in the New World, they were expelled by the British to the east coast of Central America.
