This is a good, basic warm-up set. It's great having it on CD to keep me focused to get the basics done. I move on from there. Four stars are because I get slightly irritated by her singing and playing when things speed up. I wish she wouldn't sing along, nor play all the notes. I tend to turn it off and do those myself. It's good to practice with your metronome anyway, and away from the CDs so you can really hear yourself and pay attention to your pitch as well. Great for traveling.

A patriotic, heart-warming CD for all. John Wayne's rich baritone voice and accent perfectly express the John Mitchum poems and hearing them reminds us we have much to appreciate in this country. Everyone should listen to this daily! I do!

The volume must be turned up higher than the rest of my CDs, which causes the next CD in my 5-disc player after this one to be very loud!

In May of 1978 we finally got to play the main room at Harrah's in Lake Tahoe. Bill Harrah, like Steve Wynn, ran a class act hotel. An ordinary room at Harrah's had two bathrooms in every room and a TV in every bathroom. Imagine what the suites were like, not to mention the view of the lake and the fresh air. They were all second to none. The first time we played the main room, Kenny (Rogers) was the opening act for Steve Martin, who was still doing stand-up in those days. As anyone who's ever seen Kenny's show knows, he gives out a handful of autographed tambourines during the first song of every show and asks the recipients of his gifts to play along. Two things that Jim Morrison was obsessed about was death and his c---. What is really freaky in "An American Prayer" is when he recites poetry about the death OF his c---!

This album is deep Morrison. Too deep for the Casey Kasum or Ed Sullivan crowd. So deep that deep thinkers just might get the true meaning of the Morrison lyrics: "Words got me the wound, and words will get me well if you believe it."

For me, it represents the Fundamentalist's persecution of "gays," and the Fundamentalist's promises of "Reparative Therapy" ... Read More:

What a great place to start if your looking to change your future. Alot of information given on the cd's. You might have to listen a couple of times for it to sink in. But well worth it.
