This was my 1st time using another seller for a used item (CD box set) and even if one of the cd is showing finger prints they are playing ok. Shipping was not as fast as an Amazon purchase.

One of the other reviewers said this piece echoes her earlier, less overtly political work, and I think that's true. In particular, "Birdland" from Horses comes to mind. At the same time, The Coral Sea is even more intense and demanding of the listener's attention than that. I played to it for the first time on a long drive alone in the car, late at night, so I was able to stay with it. The power of the piece creeps up on you. I was floored by it.

The CD's I purchase although appearing brand new and packaged as such both skipped, repeating a portion of the track over and over.
I suppose this may happen but I have not experienced this it all my other purchases of music.
As to the content on other tracks; interesting interpretation of the great Cole Porter.

This is not a review of Mr. Gil Scott-Heron's work or legacy. I am a believer and own many of his albums on either vinyl or (yes I'm serious) 8 Track. I specifically bought this compilation on CD to finally have a clean sounding, easy-to-play format.

The problem with this CD is that the audio is transferred to the CD at a very, very low volume. Much lower than any of my LPs or carts. At first I thought I received a bad CD and promptly exchanged it. The second one was as bad as the first.

For perspective, an average CD, LP or even 8 Track on my system is decently loud at -27 dB to -19 dB. Rarely do I turn my system up past -15 dB - and I like my music LOUD. This recording has to be turned up to -6 dB before it sounds reasonably listenable. ... Read More:

Hands down one of the best we'll ever see. When Dick Gregory puts you in a class with Mark Twain and Richard Pryor in terms of funniest ever, that says something. I found a copy used at a Newbury Comics, and for half off, and after listening, I would easily pay the 70$ for this collection.

I'm still waiting for a funny line from this icon of comedy.

After listening to it, and not laughing. I wonder if his lofty reputation is merely because he was persecuted and hounded so much for his so-called "obscene" language.

I feel sympathy for the horrors he experienced, but I don't find his act to be funny in this cd.

This album's original title when it was released in 1969 is "THE LAST POETS - Niggers Are Scared of Revolution". Just Like Gil Scott-Heron's "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised" Album, these two albums captured the new emotions of the Black community during a time of change. It capture the change in this country for White Women, White folks in the way they think, the Black communities, now known today as African-American communities, across America, and it captures young individuals trying to make a differences within their own community.
