Read More:

Flight of the Conchords should have done a little more brainstorming when trying to come up with things to sing about. This disc has five songs, and two of them are about sex. The opening track, "Business Time," is a rhythm-driven slow jam with the singer breathily monologuing about having sex with his wife/girlfriend... not a very welcoming way to start off your very first disc release. We move on to "If You're Into It," and hey, more sex! This time, the singer is encouraging a girl to have sex with some other guy.
Once you get past those two, the rest of the disc is very good. "I'm Not Crying" is, without a doubt, the best Conchords song yet. The subtle ironies and slight jabs at psychological denial of a lover's rejection are absolutely ... Read More:

it's got a *bit* too much comedy/dialogue in it for me, but i really like it. doesn't get old fast, can listen to it a lot. wish there was a bit more music but it's still darn good.

People always say Jack Black and the D are hilarious, but you dont really know either of them until you've seen this dvd. This is Tenacious D at their best. The concert, the show, the skits, all are funny as hell. The Complete MasterWorks is totally worth buying.

This compilation DVD is hilarious. It's great on so many levels. As an adult, I remember all the original songs that Weird Al parodied; and that makes it even funnier. My five year old saw "like a surgeon" on totally 80's vh1 classic and thought it was the funniest thing he'd ever seen - and he has no idea who Madonna is! I bought this DVD with him in mind - and he watches it over and over and over. I have Weird Al on karaoke, my son can't read, but he can sing every word in "fat". My seven year old daughter enjoys it as well; as do my husband and myself. We got our money's worth on this one!

If you've never heard Demetri Martin or you're familiar with him, you need to pick up this CD/DVD. Great material which you never get tired of. Recommended.

Don't believe what you read in the New York Times, especially those caustic reviews by Ben Brantley. He needs to go! Get Clive Barnes back! "Young Frankenstein" is a wonderful, hilarious romp parodying the musicals of Cole Porter and Friml and Youmans. It takes you back to when musicals were fun and frolicsome. There are great performances from everyone. Only Roger Bart doesn't match the mayhem and I think that is more of a directorial matter. I would love to see someone like Bill Irwin or even Robin Williams takeover the role.
The audience simply adored the show when I saw it. And the CD is well worth the price. If you're in New York take in "YF" and another Brantley reject "A Catered Affair." Take a pass on "In the Heights" which is over-hyped and ... Read More:

I remember watching this movie on VH1 years ago and thinking that it was funny. But watching it again recently, I realized it is not nearly as funny as it could be. There are a few funny gags, but not nearly enough funny, memorable lines. The pros of this movie are: great cameos, catchy Beatles-eque songs, the depictions of Idle as Paul and Innes as Lennon, and some funny laughs with Idle as the narrator. However, this movie is nowhere near as funny as Spinal Tap and doesn't even come close to Holy Grail. Whereas those two movies had lines that were so memorable that they are still quoted today, The Rutles movie is missing that. It doesn't have a very good flow to it and it feels choppy and there is too much time between each joke. Very original when it came ... Read More:

There are a couple songs that may take some time to win you over (I'm thinking of "Pancreas" and "Weasel Stomping Day" in particular) but even so, this is a fairly solid album from the paragon of parody. It's not the instant classic that some of his other albums were (such as "Even Worse" or "Off the Deep End") but it does eventually work its way under your skin. You'll find yourself humming sections of "Trapped In The Drive-Thru" while you're waiting "at the pay window, ... or whatever you call it."
The videos on the second disc are quite odd. Al is attempting to encourage independent creativity by having a number of different people make their own version of music video based on his songs. Some play out better than others, but they all have some quite interesting ... Read More:
