Has some great songs. Love tracks 4, 5, and 6. I've had this CD on rotation in my car since it came out. Just don't get tired of it. Highly recommend getting the whole cd, rather than buying individual songs.

M.I.A. rocks it on Kala. She teamed up w/Timbaland for this album. The beats make you want to get up and shake it. This music helps me unwind from a stressful day of work. I also recommend it for when you are running on your treadmill. The beats are unlike anything America has ever heard. She represents for us Indian girls! She raps about current events and politics. I especially love "Paper Planes" and "Come Around". Her music speaks to you. Check it out. You won't be sorry!!

Well this CD is not all that bad but the songs tend to have the same melody without little variation but if you like that kind of pop/rock. I tend to call these type of recordings pop/rock because the vocals sound more like a pop song but the music is more rockish. I am not really into this type of sound but I can relate but she is no Avril Lavine but her music could be compared to artist in that catagory.

We Started Nothing

Like most of the albums I have ever bought, "We Started Nothing" by the Ting Tings- was refreshingly different. I like the beats and the lyrics of all of the songs and the titles of the songs were very creative! I've already reccommended to my friends that they buy the cd.

Another batch of of tasty songs, spacey synthesizer work, and, a bit more guitar edge as compared to their first album. CC follows their own vision and avoids formulaic pop tunes. Take for example, Strangers in the Wind, a slightly melancholy synth trip that takes off, winds and climbs and 4:40 later sets you down in a different place. The best albums always take a few listens to study and appreciate and for me this is one of those albums.

The first four tracks on Mezzanine are masterpieces, probably the apotheosis of Trip-Hop. Dark, dreamlike, beautiful, stunningly sculpted -- one senses the hundreds, even thousands of studio manhours that went into each song. The rest of the album is brilliant as well, though the "comedown" tracks #5 & #11 might be skipped on repeat listenings. Tracks #6-10 continue the greatness in different directions -- sometimes sly and funny, sometimes crunching rock. Each song has an arc, which takes multiple listenings to understand. Ok, I just bought Singles 86-98, which has one disc of good++ music and one disc I don't care for. I would have thought this compilation would have been a good way to occupy the blank space on the jewel case after I throw out Disc 2 of Singles 86-98, but this compilation DOES NOT have "Blasphemous Rumours", which is the only good song missing from Singles 86-98. this is like that Cure "Greatest Hits" CD released in 2001, that had a bunch of random songs, missing arguably the definitive Cure song - "Pictures of You". I wouldn't go so far as to say "Blasphemous Rumours" is THE DEFINITIVE DM song, but it's a much better song than "Just Can't Get Enough".

Beck takes it up a notch with another collection of mostly great songs with the Dust Brothers in full support. As always the fans are divided. Many love this cd and others dismiss it. Beck is not going to stay stuck in a genre and create the same kind of musical experience. You have to be willing to go on his trip with him. Lots of terrific music here.

I was skeptical of this band a while now, being weary of all things hipster and hyped. I love good electronic music though, be it ambient, idm, 80's style dance. As with many trends, I jump on the bandwagon a bit late, but I'm so glad I didn't miss this one. Luckily my local library had this and I took it out and gave it a few listens and was immediately engaged. Every so often a release drops and makes your ears perk. This is definitely one of 'em. From start to finish it's a gem.
