I know I'm a bit behind buying this album now when its been out for a few years, but I own the two newest albums and LOVE them. I have to say that this album did not disappoint me one bit. I think I like it even more than his most recent albums. The songs are so romantic and sexy. If you are a Michael Buble fan and don't have this one yet, do yourself a big favor and buy it!

My Grandmother turned me on to Glenn Millers music a few years ago, when I was in my early 30's. I am now in my late 30's and I still love it. Glenn's music is timeless and still sounds so good. Over the past few years, I have had the privilege of taking my Grandmother to see the Glenn Miller Orchestra perform live and it was absolutely astounding. This cd really captures the magic of Glenn Miller at his best. I highly recommend this cd to everyone.

The music you hear on the NBC Olympic broadcasts is pretty much all on this disc.

One problem is that on the O Fortuna track, the volume from 00:23 to 01:38 is really low for some reason. Almost inaudible for that section of the song.

Even though I given this a Five Star rating, I know that not everyone has the capacity to like Satchmo. However, for those music lovers who love the blues, love classics, and love pioneers of great music, this is an awesome collection from a great artist.

The majority of adults that I know have heard "What a Wonderful World". Even if it was a remake version, it is a great song.

His duet with Bing Crosby, "Gone Fishin'", is one of my favorite summer songs.

Speaking of summer,"When it's Sleepytime Down South.', is a wonderfully relaxing addition as a live cut.

Classic versions of, "Ain't Misbehavin'", "Cabaret", and :Hello Dolly" add incredible excitement.

I'm an older guy and am transported to heaven when I hear a singer that understands the subtleties of this type of wonderful ballads. Simply can't believe this depth at this young age.

When I discussed the Ric Burns documentary about the old West with an Amerindian acquaintance, I complained that the film concentrated on the Lakota, to the exclusion of other peoples. My friend answered that, as the Lakota was the best known native American culture, that was a good place to start, and the audience would then move on to learn about other parts of the story.

I suppose the same is true of the documentary by Ric's brother Ken Burns, on the history of Jazz, on which this box set is based. It is heavy on Louis Armstrong and on the Big Band sound of the Swing era - probably the Jazz best known to the general public - but light in other areas, including the many, varied strands of Jazz in the last 30 years or so. Some years ago I purchased "Frank Sinatra: The Capital Years." "Frank Sinatra: A Voice in Time (1939-1952)" is the perfect companion to The Capital Years. Covering his recordings on the Bluebird and Colombia labels, the listener hears a Sinatra quite different from the swinging Sinatra of the 50's. This is the balladeer par excellence. Many recordings include the arrangements of Alex Stordahl which fit in so well with Sinatra's smooth delivery.
