If you are an Eagles fan and you enjoy Acoustic guitar over blasting electric... then their come back album/video is right for you. I bought both CD and DVD for obvious reasons.

Look at all the other reviews of this disc. They either say "I love Crosby, Stills, and Nash's music, so I love this" or they say "I love Stephen Stills' music, so I love this." But what would you say if you didn't already know this music from its later, more polished versions? You'd hear a good but occasionally sloppy guitarist singing folky, country-tinged songs, about half of them of very good quality. Some of these songs didn't show up in his later records for a good reason: they're dull. These demo versions of "Suite Judy Blue Eyes" and "Helplessly Hoping" are well worth a listen, but "Wooden Ships" has often been performed better.

I am an extreme latecomer to Wilco's music; up until a couple of years ago I'd never heard of them. I became interested in so-called "numbers stations", radio stations that broadcast nothing but mysterious voices reciting strings of numbers, and somebody at work told me that a band called Wilco had used numbers stations on one of their recordings, which is how I came to listen to Wilco's 'Yankee Hotel Foxtrot'. It quickly became one of my favourite CDs, and it wasn't long before I discovered this sprawling gem of an album.
'Kicking Television' has nearly everything I want from a live album; the songs are in many cases fresher, livelier and more eventful than the original versions, the playing is great, and the mood is palpably ... Read More:

i too, have seen Joe Ely many, many times in concert, as he is my absolute favorite performer, and he is never better than when he and Joel are together!!!!! i bought this CD as soon as it was available, and although i have almost ALL of Joe Ely's music, this has to be my favorite------this cd captures all the passion, heat and fire that Joe & Joel bring to a hot, Texas honkytonk-----it doesn't get much better than this!!!!!---a great time was had by all!1

As a founding member of the Byrds, Clark was known for both his singing and songwriting, having written and sung several of the Byrds most memorable tunes. His departure in 1966 led to a one-off recording with the Gosdin Brothers whose fusion of country and rock pre-dated the Clark-less Byrds turn (Sweetheart of the Rodeo) by a year. Clark rambled further on the country-rock road with Doug Dillard for a pair of albums, and finally recorded his first solo release in 1971. His songwriting and singing remained strong throughout, but his commercial fortunes never matched the success he'd found early on; even a 1973 reunion of the Byrds' original lineup failed to generate any real sparks in the marketplace; what it did provide was an introduction to David ... If you're the kind of person who already owns Blacklisted, Fox Confessor Brings the Flood, Furnace Room Lullaby, and perhaps even Canadian Amp or The Virginian, then definitely buy this album. But if you're new to Neko, or have maybe one album and are looking to expand your collection, pick up the other albums I listed first. And if you're looking for live Neko, start with The Tigers Have Spoken. In general, this is the last album of hers I'd recommend - although I still recommend it, on the grounds that I recommend that serious music lovers should own everything Neko Case has ever recorded!
The problem here is that it's too sparse and downtempo to sustain a whole album. It's an interesting experiment for a while, but several songs need a fuller ... Read More:

L.A. roots-rocker Olson and British blues-rock guitarist Taylor made a powerful pair. This live album, recorded at the Roxy in Los Angeles in 1990, was their debut, waxed with a hand-picked band that had rehearsed for a week and played only one warm-up gig. It's a sign of the players' quality that the group sounds like a well-oiled road unit, with Olson's powerful, earthy vocals backed by a solid rhythm section of Rick Hemmert on drums and Jesse Sublett on bass, and sparked throughout by Taylor's brilliant electric guitar. Released in 1991 under this title in the U.S. and as "Live" in Europe, this two-CD reissue adds a Taylor-sung cover of Fred McDowell's "You Gotta Move," previously released in Japan, and an entire second disc of studio tracks picked from Olson's ... While this live performance has only a limited number of cuts, they are of high quality. The guitar selections are outstanding and provide a lot of great harmony and quality acoustics.
My Morning Jacket is a sleeper group that can whip a crowd into a frenzy with great intensity on their guitar solo's and a lot of energy.
They remind one of the storied past of true rock and roll.

Such a short life for Gram but so much great music. This live album capturing a Long Island NY radio broadcast is another reminder of how strong his legacy is.
