Documentary biopic, 'The Future Is Unwritten' is a thorough examination of the talented lead singer/songwriter of British punk band, The Clash. Resourceful, the film fuses together early home movies, group footage, interviews of surviving members, relatives, and loved ones, as well as interviews when they were at their apex. Also featured are thoughtful words by Bono and short reflections by John Cusack, Martin Scorsese, and Steve Buscemi. All of the posthumous interviews are done by a bonfire to allude to Strummer's illustrated vision of heaven on earth. The highlights, however, focus on casual and candid talk by Strummer himself. His words both spoken and sung should be final proof that punk rock isn't and wasn't always right wing. The composite ... Read More:

I've been purchasing items from Amazon for the past 8 or so years and have never written a review for anything I have bought. The fact that I felt compelled to write about this album is a testament to how amazing it is. I admit I wasn't blown away by the first listen. It's one of those albums that just get better and better the more you hear it. Without a doubt it has easily more musical depth and emotion than anything the band has ever done. This is The Offspring's best work ever, hands down.
For those of you who complain about the lack of "punk", get real, punk has been dead for a long time. This is just an amazing american rock band making great music. Best album I've heard in years and it definitely wasn't from a band I expected.

It seems that Weezer is best at working in colors. It took seven years to go from the Blue Album (1994) to the Green Album (2001), and now, another seven years later, comes the Red Album.
"Weezer" (10 tracks; 42 min.) is divided in 2 groups of songs: the regular 'short' songs, which prove to be a return to form for the band. Best among the bunch are the opener "Troublemaker", as catchy as anything Cuomo has written, first single "Pork and Beans" (a dorky song title, but otherwise an irresistable singalong), "Heart Songs", in which Cuomo references about 15-20 singers and bands that influenced him in one way or another, and includes the great lines "Back in 1991 I wasn't having any fun/'Till my roommate said Come on and put a brand new record on/Had ... I just did a mistake by buying the vinyl version of this great album. I collect vinyl, so I was very glade to have it. But it's a sonically shame !!! It's a mystery why the CD version sounds good and the vinyl SO BAD. Somebody has done something wrong on the way of producing the vinyl.

Ok I'm old enough to be a mom to these kids, but I've been playing this cd NONSTOP in my car since getting it weeks ago. The band is tight and I like everything about the music. The drummer is excellent, and the whole band has great energy. The songs are catchy.
Dare I say they remind me of No Doubt (minus the ska, prominent bass and quirky singing)?
Keep it up Paramore!! I will definitely check out your other recordings.

i wasnt really expecting anything great from them but GOD. this blows beyond any new album that has been released within the past year and a half (w/ a few exceptions). i loved the old CD no matter what anyone said, and i always will. but how did they get so sucky so fast?? like, yeah, w/e i dont mind if they have a few mellow slow songs, that always cool, but why is EVERY song like that?!?!? ewww. i hate this cd.

Unfortunately this is a groaning disappointment. Fairly poor execution instrumentally and Gerard can barely keep his breath let alone emulate the recorded versions of the songs. Formulaic set lists and uninspired arrangements contribute to what is frankly, an average affair.
An overly produced record often results in a disappointing live show, not always, but this time is just does.
I'm a MCR fan, no doubt, but I have to be honest, this is mediocre at best. Why? I turned it off after three songs and thought 'I can come back to this later'.

This cd has some of my favorite U2 songs, quite a few of which I didn't have yet. However, if you have most of their albums I would just pay for the download of U2/Green Day's "The Saints Are Coming." It's an AWESOME song that will wake you up. It also has a fair bit of meaning to a lot of people, as it was played at the first Saints home game after Katrina.
