This album features some of Joe B.'s best guitar work and especially his best vocals. We all know how tremendous of a guitar talent he is, but he seems to be getting better and better vocally (he was always very good, of course). "Asking Around For You" is especially fantastic. And a great solo from the piano player as well. His guitar playing is astounding in "Walk In My Shadows" and "So Many Roads". In addition to some other reviewers, I also would welcome more blues material in this album, but I still enjoyed some of the rock material, especially the "Just Got Paid"-"Dazed and Confused" medley--great stuff!

A couple of letdowns, though, albeit minor ones. First, "If Heartaches Were Nickels" starts off as a heartfelt, acoustic ... Read More:

I borrowed this CD from a friend, and try as I might, I just couldn't get into it. The guitar work on the some of the tracks was classic Neil, but it seemed that overall, the music just didn't mesh too well, both on vocals and instruments. To each their own on the protest songs, but when I listen to music I want to be entertained and taken away for a while, not listen to a political agenda. Seems that CSNY is trying to find that magical portal back to the 60's when they were at the top of their game. Hang it up boys, it isn't happening.

Jimmy and the band are in top form here, the crowd is lively, and the island is gorgeous. Includes most of Buffett's classics, as well as some lesser known gems (my favorite of which is the wonderful "Distantly in Love"). Very highly recommended!

This was available as a boot titled "Airplane Farm," on the Deep Six label. Nice-quality soundboard for a boot, but I doubt if the sound is any better on the official release. "Airplane Farm" includes "Greasy Heart," which seems to be missing here.

This album gives a great overview of the Byrds career in one disc. The live playing is great, showing their soft acoustic side , their traditional side, some well chosen covers and even Amazing Grace. Good value and an enjoyable disc with amazing playing from Clarance White.

I wanted very much to like this live offering more than I actually did. The sound quality is fairly muddy, but given the live recording technolgy of the day, the engineers did a credible job. As for the music itself, live renditions of songs composed by Mike Pinder are quite welcome as Pinder has been on the "outs" with the band since the 70's. Long time fans will appreciate a set list that is varied from what we've come to expect from the band.
Justin Hayward, as always, seems both relaxed and focused for his leads on classics like Gypsy, Tuesday Afternoon, Are you Sitting Comfortably and Nights in White Satin. Edge keeps a great beat throughout and his drumming appears to be a bit more upfront in the mix giving the music more of a rock feel. ... Read More:
