I've never really listed to Roy Orbison but I saw this concert on TV and I had to ge the CD. He has several other musicians playing with him and the music is great. I also have the DVD and prefer it over the CD.
Release Date April 14, 1992
I'm not a big fan of rock music, but "The King" is an exception, and this album is his greatest live concert (although it is similar to the Hawaii concert). This album has an electricity that is high voltage. Elvis first appears to the majestic fanfare from Richard Strauss's "Zaracusthra" and closes with a little "Blue Hawaii", followed by his theme music and the guy saying "Elvis has left the building". It's a fast-paced, humourous, and electric journey. He sings old songs and new songs, rock-a-billy and ballads. His vocal range and inflections are outstanding. He sings with his band, an orchestra and two choirs (one male, one female). I love the part during "Suspicious Minds", where Elvis says "shove it up your nose".

The Killer transcended the mortal coil this night. It took me a few listens to understand this. After reading the rhapsodic reviews, I listened for something discrete in his playing, bud didn't hear it. On a subsequent listen, I stopped scrutinizing it, and I felt the wildness and power of the recording. Not wild in any planned, reproducible way, the man is seemingly coming unglued mentally, much to the benefit of the music.

Elvis Presley's vocals are impressive on Hurt and How Great Thou Art. I find his voice to have reached an operatic tone that is very pleasant to listen to. His band is in excellent form playing strong and creating excitement with their superb musicianship.
The recording quality of this performance is noticeable compared to his other live recordings. Stands out more perhaps due to the advancing technology of the instrument playing equipment.
This is an excellent performance as are all of Elvis Presley's live albums. This one and An Afternoon In The Garden are two of my personal favorites.

Classic LP.........Chuck is the founder of guitar rock and really the first true singer songwriter......for those complaining about my ding-a-ling....Chuck is a notorious naughty man....just skip it, but don't knock it....its rock and roll and it should be fun and light at times. There was a rumor that this was supposed to be a double album...SO POWERS THAT BE ARE YOU LISTENING? Just like the Howlin Wolf Deluxe edition of the london sessions.......how about it? Maybe release the full concert (clearly Chuck is ON that night) and more studio stuff! I will buy it!
Release Date March 23, 1999
I have followed this band for many years in North Carolina and have shagged many a night away to these songs. If you haven't experienced beach music, this cd will get you hooked. I can't think of a good reason for a beach music lover or any music lover not to have this one on file for the beach, parties, or just to dance and have fun!!!!
Release Date September 13, 1990
Just came across this surfing one day, and I can't believe that this was out there for so long, and I didn't know about it. All the cuts are live, and it's great to hear Billy J. Krammer, Searchers, and most of all Eric Burdon in their 60's best. If you can cope with Freddie and the Dreamers and that horrid laugh that I long ago forgot about, maybe you won't have to hit the skip track button. Overall a good selection and cleanish sound. It's a shame the Dave Clark Five are not represented. Come on Dave, give us your music back.

This is the soundtrack to the Elvis special that ran on NBC back in 1968, commonly called "The Comeback Special". Comeback from what, you may ask? Well, his career was at a low point at the time. He had been stuck in (mostly)bad movies for years, and his records weren't selling like they used to. He still recorded an occasional great song, like "Guitar Man" and "U.S. Male", but few people seemed to notice. When the TV special was broadcast, it helped Elvis regain his popularity, hence the term "Comeback Special". The performances on the special included live "stand up" performances with an orchestra, live "sit down" performances with a group of his buddies and lip synched production numbers. The music is uniformally great. But on this particular CD, some ... Read More:

I purchased this as a set as it has an Audio-DVD with it. The regular DVD is fine, but you can't play the Audio-DVD as it has a CPPM code and it cannot be played by any DVD player or DVD program. It ask for the code which cannot be found. To be honest the only reason why I purchased it was for the extra tracks on the Audio-DVD.
If someone can help me that would be nice by making a comment on this post.
