This is one of the best, if not the best recorded concert out there. If you can find a SACD or LP copy if this, it is worth buying a record player or SACD player JUST FOR THIS. I'm not even kidding. However, the CD is still awesome. Just make sure if you upload it to your computer, do it lossless. This was recorded using the best mics out there with the audience recored also. Because of this, you hear some crowd noise with an absolutely "you are there" feeling. It's hard to explain, but there is a lot of air in this recording. It's like they recorded the whole atmosphere of the concert hall. I can't recommend this enough.

I absolutely love this musical more than life itself! I hope to some day fulfill my dream of seeing it on Broadway, but it would of course have to come back, but I'd settle for London or Shea's (my local theater) if it doesn't happen.
The first Les Mis song I ever heard came from this CD, "Master of House" which is one of my favorites. Alun Armstrong sings the best version of it on here. I also love Colm Wilkinson, who will always be THE original Valjean. Michael Ball and Judy Juhn do an awesome duet of "A Heart Full of Love," and he does an amazing solo of "Empty Chairs." And Lea Salonga last but not least, is great as Eponine. Her and Ball do a very uplifting, but very sad version of "A Little Fall of Rain," the second Les Mis song I ever ... Read More:

Would you believe I actually purchased the album, back in the day? Then I had to have it on 8-track for my VW. Only that 8-track busted within a few months, so I bought it on 8-track again. I think that one lasted a few months more. I remember writing the record company telling them they had defective 8-tracks, and they mailed me a cassette. WOW, one of my first! That cassette was played over and over again until it became unplayable. I have since bought the CD (2x), and now I am buying the MP3...how technology has improved, and I had this one from the beginning folks. So now to my review.
As someone else has stated, the movie does not hold up as well as the music. The music is superb. I tend to FF thru Kris, since his voice does nothing ... Read More:

This 1971 album was the first of the all-star benefit albums. And arguably the best. In a nut shell, George Harrison, fresh off his success with "All Things Must Pass" raised his profile even further when he joined with Indian sitar master Ravi Shankar for 2 benefit shows at Madison Square Garden. At the time, Bangladesh was ½ a world away and largely unknown and forgotten by Americans and the rest of the world for that matter. Plus it had been born out of a war between religions and torn apart even further by devastating floods. George's idea was simple; gather as many musician friends as he could for a concert and maybe raise some money to aid the citizens of the emerging nation of Bangladesh. But even with his high profile, George was uncertain the ... Read More:

This is the middle time for the BNL. They do great live versions of their classic songs. The only objection I have to this is there is some profanity in one of the songs. I listened to this with my cousins when we were younger. Outside of the small useage of profanity, this is a classic album and a must for any BNL fan.

An apt salute to the six studio albums of boogie rock that the J. Geils Band had recorded between 1970-1975, this 1976 live extravaganza showcases the band at their best--performing live! It is also a capable followup to 1972's Full House, which remains one of the best live recordings of any American band in the 20th century!
Released at a time when live albums were big sellers (Frampton Come Alive, Kiss Alive, i.e.), this underated gem gives the band a chance to deliver their best songs with irreverent energy and unstoppable rythym that'll have you dancing within the first two minutes of the opening "Southside Shuffle" till the last chords of "Give it to Me"
Some may find Peter Wolf's banter a bit lengthy and/or annoying in between many songs ... Read More:

Benson followed In Flight with this live album, recorded at The Roxy in Hollywood on the 30th of September, 1st of October and 2nd of October 1977. Everyone who played on the previous album is here on this one and it's a great collection of 11 songs, again produced by Tommy LiPuma. The standout for me, is the hit "On Broadway" with its memorable beat break served up by Harvey Mason and Ralph MacDonald.
Benson's version here of "Down Here On The Ground" is another personal favourite of mine, as is "Lady Blue", and he also does a live version of "The Greatest Love Of All", the original version of which was a huge hit for Benson in 1977, off the soundtrack to the Muhammad Ali movie The Greatest. Personally, I prefer the studio version (availble on The George Benson ... Read More:

The atmosphere at the Hollywood Bowl was nice and cosy. And so was the music. And so is this 2 cdset. I enjoy at least three times a week!

The only fault with this album is that the notes are almost non-existant. I guess if I had the time I could figure out which songs were from Australia '77 and Wembly 79 and Stockholm '81, but I would have been happy if they did that for me.
The songs are all top shelf performances and just make me wish than in the late 70's I had not devoted so much energy to the punk music and kept my ABBA habit secret. I had all the singles back then but hid them as a guilty pleasure. Since I was more concerned with trends, I blew the chance to see them when they played the States and have only this cd (and a handful of videos and bootlegs) to keep me happy today. Don't make my mistake. Embrace your inner spandex jump suit; buy the c.d. Tell everyone proudly, "I love ABBA, especially ______ ... Read More:
