I grew up loving and listening to JudyG at Carnagie Hall! I heard about Rufus's tribute to her, and couldn't wait to hear his sound.
All I can say is, this isnt a tribute, its a disappointment!
Its more a tribute to a less than mediocre artist, who used a real artists name, to make himself famous!

i remember seeing this when it first came out .the MTV unplugged series was definitely an armature show till natalie and the maniacs appeared and i never even heard of them the track- because the night became an instant hit you can still hear it on radios stations almost daily (my other favorite was -like the weather )all the tracks were great and the band and natalie were on point this show put the unplugged series on the map and set the standards high it was also visually pleasing to watch but they didnt put it on DVD my other favorite was the nirvana episode no DVD either

I caught the show in Charlotte NC in January 1974, purely by luck as someone offered a ticket on the UNC student radio station at face value, something like $8-9. (Yes, young people, major concerts used to be reasonably priced.) It turned out to be on the center aisle, row W. Bill Graham walked by a couple of times during the show. It was unbelievable, so great, I had no idea walking in how staggering it would be.

But on to Before the Flood. A huge disappointment to me at the time, it sounds somewhat better in hindsight. Dylan oversings, especially on what would be the first side on vinyl. This is my second favorite S&G album, next to their Greatest Hits. Simon and Garfunkel re-united for this back in 1981. This has S&G songs along with Paul Simon classics, some I would argue sound better live than they do in the originals. I remembered hearing this and listening to it before dinner on Saturday nights, thinking about how much fun it is to listen to a concert on a summer Saturday night. This is worth every penny and is a must for Simon and Garfunkel and Paul Simon fans.
