I found this on iTunes while browsing My Morning Jacket albums and accidentally pressed "enter" (which played a song sample) instead of pressing "back." Perhaps it's lame of me to admit, but tears welled up in my eyes because I was absolutely overcome. I'd never heard anything like it before, gorgeous, absolutely wonderful songwriting. I bought it immediately and cannot give it any less than five stars. I can NOT believe I'd never heard of them--it's a sin. Truly. Buy this album this minute and prepare to be enlightened like never before!

It's best to start with one warning: some people simply don't like Conor Oberst's voice, whether it be on this album, or as a part of Bright Eyes or Desaparacidos. That being said, it is impossible to dispute Oberst's proficiency as a songwriter. As a lifelong Springsteen fan, I've always considered The Boss to be one of the best lyricists of all time. Since I became a fan of Bright Eyes and Oberst, I would now consider him to be better than Springsteen. Some of his lines are truly incredible, and the listener cannot help but be touched.

As any fan of Sigur Ros knows, they're fantastically strange. And anyone who does not like them would say the same, only changing that they're too strange, and that they're being different for the sake of being different. It's easy enough to say that the lyrical approach is pretentious; Sigur Ros sing in a Norwegian jibberish, encouraging their fans to make up their own words. No album better expresses their artsy tactfulness (or lack thereof, as some may say) than 2002's ( ), which had no titles, no lyrics, no acknowledgements, no nothing. The cover simply had the parenthesis and the band's name, and beyond that it was a mystery.

The new Raconteurs album is incredible in its layered simplicity. This is Jack White's new band and the album breaks boundaries while still having a familiar feeling to it. The instrumentation mixes modern and traditional styles in a seamless album. I found the debut album "Broken Boy Soldiers" to be a bit weak, not bad, but not terribly memorable. Pick this album up immediately! You will not be disappointed.

The neo-psychedelia duo MGMT (made up of Ben Goldwasser and Andrew VanWyngarden) could have released a classic album. They could have. In fact, for a while, it seemed like they had done it; the first half of Oracular Spectacular, their debut album, it seems like MGMT have crafted something perfect.

The reality is, the Oracular Spectacular is lopsided, with all the beautiful gems showing themselves in the first half, and literally only the first half. For someone who says he's going to be bigger then U2 this album is by far has one of the worst songs ever written. That belongs to the song Yellow. Not only is it a pointless song it's one of the worst songs in history. One reason it was because it was so overplayed.
The other reason is because Chris Martin sounds like a prepubescent little girl whining at mom for not buying her those thong panties at Victoria Secrets. Not only that he fails miserably at his attempt to be better then U2. In fact most of his other albums sound the same with that whininess. The only good song that Coldplay has come out with is Clocks. Every other song is horrible. The only reason why he even is able to sell a cd is because some women think he's hot. Vampire Weekend

I love this CD! I love people like Buddy Holly and the Stray Cats so this music has a very nostalgic sound. I can't get enough of Vampire Weekend. I listen to the CD every night. My favorite song has to be Oxford Comma. Get this CD you wont be disapointed! :)

This CD only had a few good songs. The rest of it, such as a track consisting entirely of random humming, was unprofessional and not the least bit entertaining. The movie was funny and held my attention, however the soundtrack was a sad disappointment.

Well this CD is not all that bad but the songs tend to have the same melody without little variation but if you like that kind of pop/rock. I tend to call these type of recordings pop/rock because the vocals sound more like a pop song but the music is more rockish. I am not really into this type of sound but I can relate but she is no Avril Lavine but her music could be compared to artist in that catagory.

Like most of the albums I have ever bought, "We Started Nothing" by the Ting Tings- was refreshingly different. I like the beats and the lyrics of all of the songs and the titles of the songs were very creative! I've already reccommended to my friends that they buy the cd.
