I'm 39 now. My Mom used to listen to these albums when she was a teenager, and years later, she would to play them for me all the time when I was young. Instead of plopping me in front of the tv, we'd sit and listen and imagine Cosby on stage and we'd be laughing right along with the audience. I have been listening to them ever since. All these stories have held up wonderfully (no pun intended) after over 40 years. Bill Cosby is a master comedic story teller - and most of what he is telling is through real life experience.

I have several of Cosby's album's (I mean CD's!) on my iPod now, and it's hard to keep from chuckling in my work cubicle when a story like "The Chicken Heart" comes on...

Buyer beware! Yes, these are the usually great, sometimes brilliant, sometimes annoying Tom Lehrer songs BUT his introductions are gone. These are rather sterile recordings, with no audience reaction and, more importantly, none of the wonderfully funny verbal introductions that were half the fun of Tom Lehrer's music. The songs are there. And most, while not as wonderful without the introductions, do stand on their own. Just know what you're getting.

"Why is there Air" is pretty funny stuff, but not as good as Wonderfulness or Revenge. If you are new to this old stuff, I'd recommend one of those two as a first purchase.

Enjoyed the content but a bit disappointed. The original was a 33 1/3 RPM Recording that had a lot more content. I judge this CD to only contain about one-half of what was on the recording.

In May of 1978 we finally got to play the main room at Harrah's in Lake Tahoe. Bill Harrah, like Steve Wynn, ran a class act hotel. An ordinary room at Harrah's had two bathrooms in every room and a TV in every bathroom. Imagine what the suites were like, not to mention the view of the lake and the fresh air. They were all second to none. The first time we played the main room, Kenny (Rogers) was the opening act for Steve Martin, who was still doing stand-up in those days. As anyone who's ever seen Kenny's show knows, he gives out a handful of autographed tambourines during the first song of every show and asks the recipients of his gifts to play along.
