What's to say?
Free to Be You and Me is timeless, brilliant, and super fun for kids of all ages.
Great cast, wonderfully imaginative songs.
Too bad nobody's making an updated version!
Release Date March 14, 1995
The soundtrack to the animated 1981 movie HEAVY METAL is absolutely wonderful, even though the movie itself was pretty tasteless. One band on here, Riggs, contributed members to Pat Travers' band. Several other artists here- Sammy Hagar, Nazareth, Stevie Nicks, Grand Funk Railroad, Don Felder, Blue Oyster Cult, and Journey- oppose Indonesia's trumped-up 2005 drug-smuggling conviction of a young Australian tourist, as well as creating a great soundtrack that makes even the most tasteless visual imagery worthwhile. So my advice is, buy the CD, don't see the movie.

This excellent album contains eighteen songs that were popular during the WW2 years. The album starts with that well-known hit Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy (performed by The Andrews Sisters), and then moves between jazzy hits (such as G.I. Jive and Yours). I really enjoyed hearing again some of the songs that used to be so close to my father's heart, including Long Ago (And Far Away) and The White Cliffs of Dover.
I must say that I found this to be a very good album. I miss my GI father, who passed away a year ago, and I felt like I captured a little piece of him when I listened to the music he loved all those years ago. So, if you like that great Big Band sound, or want to get a glimpse into the world of WW2, then get this album. I highly ... Read More:

The inaugural volume of what is now a 30-CD series moves from strength to strength in several different categories, and buying it is not only a no-brainer but also essential to one's education in pop music (assuming one needs it). Starting as it does in late 1969, this '70s volume is a bit heavier and more substantive and serious than many of its successors, and even more listenable on repeated plays as a result -- there are also some perfectly respectable examples of hard rock here ("Mississippi Queen" by Mountain), sharing space with dreamy, ethereal pop like the wistful "Come Saturday Morning" by the Sandpipers, and some enduring pop/rock sounds and songs. The Spiral Starecase opens the disc with the upbeat sounds of "More Today Than Yesterday," ... Read More:

Pure Disco has twenty-one great tracks on it that anyone from the days of disco will remember fondly! This is the music people heard in the clubs as they danced their cares away on many a Saturday night. The music on this CD is excellent; and the quality of the sound is also very good. The artwork is great!
The Village People start things off big with their smash disco hit entitled "Y.M.C.A." "Y.M.C.A." has an awesome beat and it just might even make your kids want to dance to it! "Y.M.C.A." is classic disco and a great choice to start off this album. Abba's "Dancing Queen" is yet another great number from the golden days of disco; it may have a somewhat slower beat than other songs do but it still is great dancing music. "Hot Stuff" by Donna Summer ... Read More:

I first heard of this cd when it was first advertised on tv in the 90's but honestly thought nothing of buying it. However in 2001 I happened to spot this cd when I was stationed in Japan and am happy to have spent my money on this cd. Due to the variety of the songs I feel that this cd is good to listen to at work , when you are spending time with your loved ones, and relaxing and nurturing yourself when you are alone. Some of the notable tracks that really stand out in a positive way for me are
"return to innocence" by enigma
"orinoco flow" by enya
"sweet lullaby" by deep forest
"tubular bells" by mike oldfield
"sadeness" by enigma
There are other good tracks on this cd that are also enjoyable. This album among ... Read More:

I bought this CD because of all the rave reviews I read about it. The other people must have been a bit more earthy-crunchy than I am. I found all the wind instruments a bit boring. I think I like to hear a little more piano or something... I love the baby Mozart CD but I thought my baby needed a change every once in a while. Thats why I bought this one. It's ok....
