The soundtrack to the animated 1981 movie HEAVY METAL is absolutely wonderful, even though the movie itself was pretty tasteless. One band on here, Riggs, contributed members to Pat Travers' band. Several other artists here- Sammy Hagar, Nazareth, Stevie Nicks, Grand Funk Railroad, Don Felder, Blue Oyster Cult, and Journey- oppose Indonesia's trumped-up 2005 drug-smuggling conviction of a young Australian tourist, as well as creating a great soundtrack that makes even the most tasteless visual imagery worthwhile. So my advice is, buy the CD, don't see the movie.

I first heard of this cd when it was first advertised on tv in the 90's but honestly thought nothing of buying it. However in 2001 I happened to spot this cd when I was stationed in Japan and am happy to have spent my money on this cd. Due to the variety of the songs I feel that this cd is good to listen to at work , when you are spending time with your loved ones, and relaxing and nurturing yourself when you are alone. Some of the notable tracks that really stand out in a positive way for me are
"return to innocence" by enigma
"orinoco flow" by enya
"sweet lullaby" by deep forest
"tubular bells" by mike oldfield
"sadeness" by enigma
There are other good tracks on this cd that are also enjoyable. ... Read More:

I first heard this mix only very recently, in a long cab ride, and begged begged the driver to let me buy the disc from him. He refused, but let my friend run into his apartment and upload it into his iTunes. I have since bought the disc, and love it soooo much. It's upbeat, loads of fun, yes, great for cleaning the house to. But really, it brings me back to the days of middle school, going to school dances and buying cassette singles with my friends on the weekends...just being care-free and being a kid. I had been feeling nostalgic for those days lately and this disc captures my youth perfectly!

For the most part, this is a great soundtrack. The only problem I have with this, is that the "La Bamba" on the CD is not the exact one played in the movie during the concert and also at the end of the movie where the credits are. The one in the movie is SLIGHTLY faster and upbeat. Would have loved to have that version on the CD.

I've only been listening and going to bluegrass festivals for about 2 years now. I still consider myself new to it. This is a great album to have for anyone interested in bluegrass, especially to those who are newish, as I am. It's a great introduction, and it sounds how bluegrass should sound, in my opinion. I've gotten some bluegrass before that sounds as though it's nothing more than a rock band that happened along a mandolin and a banjo. Thankfully, this album is nothing like that.

I purchased101 Digital Sound Effects: Sounds of Horrorand was deeply disappointed. It just wasn't funny or scary, corny at most.
Finding this CD was truly a treasure. It has the elements of a spooky, and frightful Halloween soundtrack. In the second and third discs there's a lot of wonderment, as to what's around the corner, lurking. It's a haunted hayride, without the hay, and a haunted house without the mass of people waiting!

This CD is one of the best CDs I own. Because I'm a Rocky Fan, and my favorite movie is Rocky IV, I purchased this CD a couple of years ago. I first heard songs from this CD(especially "Eye of the Tiger") when I was participating in track and field. Songs from this CD inspired all of the guys and me, and everyone worked hard. That's when I became a Rocky Fan!
Most of the songs are from the movie Rocky IV and a few others are remakes of Bill Conti's "Gonna Fly Now" song by the Rocky Orchestra.
In the CD Album "Rocky IV", there's those love songs that don't make sense and have nothing to do with the plot of the movie. All of the songs on the "The Rocky Story" can pump you up. Since all of the Rocky IV songs on this CD are pop-rock music, it's convenient ... Read More:
