There is no questioning Hendrix and his influence on generations of musicians and guitar players and Are You Experienced is a definative records. From the opening riff of Purple Haze, the wonderful version of Hey Joe to the hauning Wind Cries Mary Hendrix's playing shines and still holds up after all this time.

Though there are many records released of Jimi, including some nice compilations/greatest hits, Are You Experienced, Electric Ladyland and Axis: Bold as Love are must haves.

Billboard Top Rock & Roll Hits: 1968 is yet another low priced CD that gives us great rock and roll hits from 1968. The sound quality is great and the artwork is as good as all the others in this CD series.

Archie Bell & The Drells start off the track list with their hit entitled "Tighten Up." This peppy number benefits from great horns, singing and percussion. Archie Bell & The Drells perform "Tighten Up" to perfection and they handle the tempo changes like the pros that they always were!

As a lover of Italian music, I bought this CD because it was first on the Amazon.com list when I typed in Italian music, so I figured it would be spectacular. I must admit, I was somewhat disappointed overall. I realize these are old recordings, but they really do sound dated and unimaginative now. In some instances, I wonder how the original recording back in the '50s made it to the charts, it was so poorly done musically. Wish I could have heard some tracks before I spent the money for this. Just my opinion. If you can listen to it beforehand, I encourage you to do so.

Contains all their big hits, but none of their later material. It was a straight re-issue of the 1968 LP, which was pretty much the norm in the early days of CD's. But this excellent set is long over due for an update, including remastering. Add another 5 or 6 songs from their later albums and it would be an easy 5 star CD. As is it is very good. "Everything That Touches You" is one of the best love songs to come out of the 60's. "Windy" and "Cherish" are classics. Nobody sounded like the Association.

Secondly, when I called your number to find out about it, I ended up in the Phillippines (?), and the lady told me specifically, you don't deliver to Canada anymore, because we've changed our international mailing/delivery laws, so I should request a cancellation & refund (?).

Billboard Top Pop Hits: 1968 is an inexpensive CD with great sounds of 1968 on it to entertain you over and over again. The sound quality is excellent; these songs sound just as fresh as the first day you ever heard them! Newcomers to this genre of music would do well to choose this CD.

Mason Williams kicks things off with "Classical Gas;" this features some wonderful guitar playing and the orchestration can't be beat! The strings, percussion and more enhance the beauty of this melody. I predict that you will enjoy "Classical Gas" very much. JULY 2008 REVIEW: I purchased this particular box set a little over a month ago, and I must say: it does NOT disappoint. You really can't complain; although the box set was released several years ago, and therefore the early 1990's CD mastering here isn't necessarily as strong and powerful sounding as a 2008 mastering might be, the tracks presented here are bright and clear. Approximately 100 tracks fill out this 4-CD box set, and most of the songs are winners. And they are presented here in their original mono sound mixes as originally released (an apparent problem for some reviewers here, but I had no issue with it; the songs sound the same as they always have).
