A thousand reviews? I only can echo the majority. This is simply another masterpiece from the greatest band that ever cut a record. These four were in a class by themselves. The Beatles and then there were all the others. Abbey Road blew everyone away when it came out and still is an experience and not just a set of songs put together for listening to while you run the vacumn cleaner. I always think of some of the assertions that have been made about Shakespeare when I take in the entire catlog of the Beatles. It seems impossible that one small rock combo could come together and create art the way they did the same way that so many people can't imagine one person writing as many classics as Shakespeare did. This was my first Elvis music purchase and I hate to say it but it's a disappointment. Elvis is great and I like the songs but it's advertised as an audio CD and that's what I thought I was buying - and my receipt says it an audio CD. But it is NOT an audio CD - it is an audio DVD. And being an audio DVD (with no video and no menu) it won't play in ANY of my CD players - not my home CD players and not my car CD player. So I get to listen to Elvis through my tinny TV speakers with no way to select certain songs. Also there are two songs that the audio drops on for about 30 seconds. I ONLY give it two stars because it's Elvis. Sorry Amazon, you dropped the ball on this one.

Karen's voice and her brothers genius make this one solid Gold. My kids say don't bother him now, he's listening to the Karen LOL. This is a total collection of all the hits and some obscure beauties. Be hard pressed to find anyone who can sing this well. Karen had range, tone, emotion and a sense of fun and beauty that may forever be one of a kind. The only bad thing about this collection is its all you will ever need,40 songs. I might have been better off buying all the original albums. When I look at one now I say oh well I already have the 3-4 best songs. Since the Carpenters have been gone a long time I'll recommend some great female vocalists; Margo Timmins (cowboy junkies), Alison Krauss, Ruthie Foster and of course Mary Chapin Carpenter (no relation).
