Alright, so you've probably heard a lot about this album and this band but I think this album and the band deserve so much credit. If you haven't really listened to anything off this album yet, I'm going to convince you to. Read on.

This amazing album has two disks: Jupiter and Mars; both fantastic. Its sound is way different than previous RHCP albums but still keeps they're original style and flair. With crazy bass lines from bassist Flea and funky guitar rifts from guitarist John Frusciante, this album is packed with creativity and has something for everyone. Drums are always great too when you got Chad Smith on them; one of the few guys in rock music these days that keeps a smile on his face.

This a review of the mastering, It is BAD. Perhaps the most infamous victim of the loudness war, but I hear so little of it from fans. The music is OK, I guess, but the sound is AWFUL. Consumer, educate yourself. END THE LOUDNESS WARS. Go get Blod Sugar Sex Magic, (original issue) it is the same, only it sounds good.

I know a lot about this album has already been said but I'll go ahead and say that I agree when people say that this is one of the best '90s rock albums, and one of the best rock albums of all time. Every song on "Blood Sugar Sex Magik" is amazing, with lots of great musicianship, singing and songwriting.
There's so much energy, funk and fun, this album is always great with every listen. From the amazing basslines of the legendary Flea to the in-the-pocket drumming of Chad Smith, the crooning vocals alongside the sometimes profound but in this case quite often naughty lyrics by the amazing Anthony Keidis and funky lead guitar lines of the awesome John Frusciante. I was just asked to list my Top 5 CD's of all time, and this is one of them. So, i thought i'd add a review. Not a whole lot i can say except to me - this is the best of the best. Incubus is awesome, and IMO this is their best. LOVE IT.

I was in 7th grade when I got this CD and so began my love for music. I memorized this CD inside and out, every note, every lyric. A friend of mine said that the first album by a band is always the best becuase it is pure and just for the love of making music. In this case this statement is true, although I give a 5 star rating to the rest of their albums as well. Sublime does not limit their style to one genre which is just one of the reasons they are the greatest band ever.

I've been a RHCP fan since their debut. As such, I'm much a fan of the style of music they pioneered in the 1980's and played on their early efforts, even as late as 1995's One Hot Minute. I faithfully bought By The Way right when it came out, as a loyal RHCP fan. Boy.... What a let down. Where, uh, is the "red hot?" The band took the musical idea behind "Otherside" from Californication (probably the most annoying song on that album) and created a whole album of "Otherside" remixes and reworkings. Well, almost. There are maybe 4 or 5 tracks here that are listenable. One or two of them are actually really good. But the rest is just slow, boring, mostly acoustical stuff that lacks energy or drive. I'm a newer fan to Incubus (I bought this CD in 2005) but I absolutely love them and this CD is amazing! It's a lot different than their previous albums and this whole CD has a very California, laid-back vibe to it. Awesome lyrics, wonderful vocals, and it's very catchy! I recommend this to everyone!
