this is easily the best single out of the four they have released this year. and the b-side is even better. pick it up.

completely unrelated, but not really.
the new album judging by these singles is NOT going to be their best.
however, i think the album's opener "underneath the stars" might be their best since plain song. i wasn't fortunate enough to have seen them play it but i have seen it on you tube, and the song rules.

This is a good, basic warm-up set. It's great having it on CD to keep me focused to get the basics done. I move on from there. Four stars are because I get slightly irritated by her singing and playing when things speed up. I wish she wouldn't sing along, nor play all the notes. I tend to turn it off and do those myself. It's good to practice with your metronome anyway, and away from the CDs so you can really hear yourself and pay attention to your pitch as well. Great for traveling.

I've found the last couple of Enigma albums overall weak and lacking the magic of the early ones, in particular the first trilogy: I applaud "bandleader" Michael Cretu for doing more "experimental pop", but in the process, it's either sounded like his much earlier music (which he did under his real name), or in other cases (like A Posteriori), made strides towards a more cohesive, astral theme... but the gated synth sounds themselves were too dissimilar to Enigma's core, sounding more like a side project or the work of a team of 2nd-rate remixers.

I'm hoping that the upcoming Seven Lives, Many Faces album will both draw from Enigma's amazing heritage and advance forward with elements that aren't too distant, but definitely novel -- a tricky ... Read More:

Truth be told, Oasis haven't sounded as raw and aggressive as they do on The Shock of the Lightning since Champagne Supernova!
