Amazing is the first thing that pops into my head as I sit down to write the review for Leona Lewis's debut CD: Spirit. This young woman has a voice beyond anyone's imagination. I bought this CD the day it came out and have not written a review until now because I cannot stop listening to it.

Upon hearing the first single: "Bleeding Love", months ago, I really did not know what to expect out of the full length CD. There is everything from pop, mid tempo jams to powerhouse ballads. Get ready to get energized. Great music, great lyrics, great voice and the arrangements only get better with volume. This is not background music; it takes the bumps out of the day! The better the sound system, the better this CD is.... Would recommend and this is my first CD by Natasha.

Following the sudden popularity of a previously unknown group come two crowds: one proclaiming it to be genius, and another denouncing it as garbage. I honestly think the latter is the trendier position in cases like this.

But why have Vampire Weekend struck gold all of a sudden? Are they breathtakingly original or groundbreaking? Are they music's Next Michael Jordan? I don't really think so, but you have to look at the environment at the time they broke out, and it must be true that VW gave us something we were starved for from other bands. I think it might be the jubilance of the African-style guitar work and their use of good melody-driven songs, and it stands out against a lot of bands that are bland by comparison, just moody and atmospheric ... Shine a light, is the soundtrack of the movie with the same name. I didn't see teh movie yet, but as a Stones fan, I have to buy this record. But in a collection it is not essential, there is nothing new!

Snakes & Arrows Live 2 CD Set

For a band that's known for its technical prowess and studio-perfect sound, it's ever been amazing how fantastic they are live. While this CD doesn't live up to the raw beauty of A Show of Hands or Exit Stage Left, it's certainly nicer to listen to than the Rio set, which was just too harsh. And the new S&A songs are just perfect - just what you'd expect from some of their best studio stuff since Counterparts.
The setlist departs a bit from the US setlist, and the 2nd CD doesn't come on quite so strong. But CD #1 is just amazing, and worth a few loops before you move on.
Get it. Enjoy it. There's only so much new Rush left, after 34 years.

This album is an incredible debut. I only gave it 4 stars because I have a standard... if I don't like 90% of the material on the album then I can't give 5 stars. However, every song that I do like, I LOVE. I see that many are saying that she is the MIA of 2008. I would not say that at all. I think that this girl may be in the same genre, but her style is more infectious than MIA's. MIA is very hard hitting. Santigold... Santigold is a sneak attack. Before you can decide to like her or not... you love her.
