Steve Winwood is of course a Rock icon and has been around for years.
He has had hits with the Spencer Davis Group, Traffic and of course as a solo act.
When you mix this all together this CD shows you what you might some up with.
I'm not drowning is a great blues tune and a perfect song to open a CD with. I wish we saw this side of Stevie more often.
Fly is another song that reminds me of Traffic
Dirty City is the best song on the CD and features a guitar solo by long time friend Eric Clapton. I wish we could hear more Clapton and Winwood together.
As the title says, its one of his better efforts but not his best....

I had to buy this soundtrack as soon as I saw the movie, "Once." The soundtrack did not disappoint. Of course it includes the incredible Oscar winning song, "Falling Slowly," but it also includes many other moving musical gems. It's a fairly mellow listen, but the angst of Glen Hansard's character over his lost love comes through on several tracks. These are songs about being in love and losing love, and they are well worth buying the full CD.

Way back in 2003, I reported that Gavin DeGraw's debut CD Chariot was the best album you'd never heard of. Fast forward to 2008 to his second studio album, and although he's a lot more popular now, this is probably the best album you've heard only one song from.

That song is "In Love with a Girl", the first single, but by no means the only good track on the album. DeGraw's easy-listening melodies and simple arrangements make for timeless songs that will still be current in years to come.

Little Voice

I was pleasantly surprised by how good this disc is. Sara is truly a great song writer, poet and singer. What you hear on the radio barely scratches the surface of what she has to offer. Some of the deeper cuts are the best. I highly recommend this disc.

I love this collection of songs from Sarah McLachlan. It has a nice balance - some live (Angel, Pills), duets Time After Time, Don't Let Go Just Like Me, and Angel, my favorite. The harmony of Sarah and Emmy Lou Harris is amazing. I only owned one album of Sarah's, Surfacing, when I bought this one so repeated content from other albums was not a problem. Now, I plan to buy all her albums.

Coco by Colbie Caillat is a bland and uninspired disc. Colbie has a decent voice but there is no power in it, I was expecting so much more from this young artist but this album is not a standout. All the songs sound the same, boring vocals and clumsy guitar playing. Bubbly and Realize make me want to fall asleep. If you want an exciting new artist then I suggest Sara Bareilles, at least her voice and music won't make you comatose.

Music for the Motion Picture Into the Wild

I listened to the soundtrack before I saw the movie and I thought it was great. However when I saw the movie, I was amazed how delicately the soundtrack was chosen. After that moment, the soundtrack takes me through a 30 minute journey.

The songs have inspiring lyrics and great melody. As a Pearl Jam fan, I think it makes you realize the great voice that their frontman has. Fully recommend.
