I got this for my daughter when she was about 6 months old. She's 2 years old now and still loving it. We dance to it all the time. It's not the typical kiddie music which I love. It even has a version of "Three Little Birds" by Bob Marley. Simply love it.

I have about 50 Putumayo compilations in my collection and this CD is absolutely the best of the entire lot. There is not a bad track on the disc. It is the epitome of feel-good music, highly listenable and danceable. While every song is outstanding, the favorite track in my household is #8 Kanpe Sou Yon Bit. Do we know what it means? Not a clue; but if you really want to check it out, the liner notes in all Putumayo compilations are informative and comprehensive. Whether you're a casual fan of world music or you want to add to a growing collection, French Caribbean is a wise purchase. Highly recommended.

I discovered Kassav' and Zouk through the Putumayo series of samplers, and bought this album after learning that Jimmy Buffett's "Love and Luck" was an English-language cover of their "Kolé Séré." Wow. There's just no way anyone can listen to this music and stay in a lousy mood. I wish I spoke Creole French -- I'd like to think that "Zouk la sé sèl médikaman nou ni" means "Zouk is unique medicine." C'est vrai.

I purchased this CD because of the song "Raquel" which is on the soundtrack for the movie "Hable Con Elle". This song (Raquel) is an amazingly simple but memorable piece with a soft/funky latin beat keeping the time rolling right along. When putting in this CD, "Raquel" was the first song, so I was quite happy. And then I got to the second song and that weird screechy violin started in.. ugh.. with all due respect to Bau, the way he distorts/effects the violin is not enjoyable. At all. I bought the CD for his amazing guitar work. Now, in that respect the album is fantastic, but I want to just skip past every song that contains the violin - due to the effects. This album is great. It's a blend a different western and carribean rythms with a touch of African beats. For zouk lovers, this is classic! Zouk machine is one of the groups that really paved the way for many many current zouk artists. I was extremelly amazed by this album.

Tatiana is great for kids music in Spanish. We buy every CD we can for our kids. We took our 6 year old to see her at the PLaza de Toros in Nogales a few years ago and she was just great in concert. Our daughter and her friends had and blast and of course knew all the songs. Expose your children to Spanish with some great music, listen to Tatiana!
