I must admit to being surprised at the quality of the voices as displayed by the all-star cast--well, for the most part. The female voices were excellent. It didn't appear to be a requirement that the male leads be able to sing (well). Although they were OK. I have a whole new appreciation for the song WINNER TAKES IT ALL after seeing Le Streep's intensely emotional rendition/performance. The major disappointment is that the song WATERLOO was not included on the CD. I saw the the musical on Broadway. Personally, I think it works better on the stage; however, it really comes down to your opinion of ABBA's music. I thought it was all great fun and have listened to the soundtrack a couple of times today.

This show still puts the likes of Spring Awakening, Young Frankenstein, In The Heights and nearly every other show of the past couple of years, to shame. After nearly 60 yrs!!! In 60 more years will anyone remember any of the garbage from Spring Awakening? A revival of Passing Strange on Broadway? I doubt it.

The movie was good, but if you haven't seen it or have no desire to the soundtrack stands on its own.
It is my understanding that the song "Falling Slowly" has become the anthem, but in my opinion it belongs to "If You Want Me". Irglova's haunting and mesmerizing vocals on the first round of the chorus gave me goosebumps upon first listen and brought tears to my eyes (literally). I was so captivated I listened to it four or five times in a row, and now I can't get enough.
This is the kind of music that makes you want run out and take guitar and/or piano lessons and compose a song for your loved one.

This is a classic example of people jumping on the bandwagon for a play which despoiled the great Oz of L. Frank Baum, and music which was humdrum and un-memorable. But because most humans are herd animals, it becomes a classic. It even hand a song which goes like this.....[see, Spamalot].

This CD was amazing! Listening to it made me feel like I was watching the movie all over again. And the last song on the disc was beautifully written and makes me love Sex and the City all over again!

I could go on about how perfect this score was for such a dark movie...but did anyone notice any similarities to Elfman's score? Particularly in the track "I'm not a Hero"? Not that thats a bad thing at all...I think it fits perfectly.

This is one of the best musical soundtracks I've listened to. The story unfolds through the songs. I know I'll probably not get the opportunity to see it on stage so it's wonderful to understand the story without having to see it. The joy that this playwriter feels comes through in every song and the performers translate it perfectly. I had my doubts about the rap but the Latin beats underneath make it accessible. Additionally, there is no mumbling, the actors annunciate every word. I hope you like this musical as much as I do!

I don't think these songs will stand the test of time, but they catch the feeling of kids making music, just like the good movie of Juno was fresh and young.

This has got to be one of my favorite CD's from the Pearl Jam universe. But make no mistake... it's NOT PJ (DUH...), despite being in the same neighborhood. It's merely PJ's lead singer taking a temporary step out of his magnificent band to write and record a few short songs for old buddy Sean Penn, as a soundtrack to Penn's latest directorial accomplishment, Into The Wild (which by the way, is an incredible movie). The songs on here are short, but oh so sweet, and most of them are 100% from Vedder's mind. It's not a loud, in your face assault like you'd expect from PJ, either. These songs are for the most part very reflective, and focus on such themes as greed, materialism, inner peace, and happiness; much of what the movie is all about. In my opinion, this is ...
