CD-Charts Music : What is Love

What is Love

CD-Charts > Music > CD Singles
by: Haddaway

Release Date May 08, 2001
I have the original release, bought back in 1993 locally. The front cover is the same, but the mixes are different. The back cover is a close shot of his face with his web hands covering it.
1. 7" mix (4:09)
2. Refreshmento extro radio mix (3:46)
3. 12" mix (6:40)
4. Eat-This-Mix (6:54)
This is the best dance song ever in my opinion. The opening beats just grip you. The 12" mix is perfect for new year's party.
This is the lyrics and pauses to 7" mix, or regular mix, that you hear on the radio.
What is love,...baby don't hurt me,...don't hurt me,...no more.......

Release Date July 02, 1991
Clearly two groups will be interested in this album: Doctor Who fans (and who isn't these days with the new series going into it's fourth year), and 80's British club culture fans (and certainly there are more than a couple of us that Raved).

This is the "album" that marked the end of the commercial exploits of the KLF/JAMM, and so the publicity goes it's the million pounds they got from sales of this that they burned. Long out of original print, non-British companies have had the rights to continue distribution, but it is a vanishing artifact.

Of course, there was no actual TV episode where a Dalek spoke, "Loads of money".

The stadium/anthem/glam title track will appeal to high-brow and low-brow, and indeed ... Read More:

Kooler Than Jesus

by: My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult

Release Date April 08, 1993
In the late 80s, some things were indeed still sacred, and MLWTTKK was out to defy them. In today's post-Marilyn Manson age, it's sometimes hard for younger people to understand why stuff like this was so scandalous back in the day. Bands who were bold enough to so clearly mock organized religion were few and far between. The Dead Kennedys were known for going there, and of course Ozzy was doing his theatrical bit with crucifixes and implied "Satanic" overtones. TKK wasn't the first or even the most scandalous band to do it, but "Kooler Than Jesus", which collects three of their early EPs, is a good example of how they were among the first to do it with club music and electronica. It was them and, to a lesser degree Ministry, who were inspired ... Read More:

For me this is great beat to dance to.
Although I am a Freestyle music fan I do accept
this music on my dance floor.
I had no idea this was trance music.
I danced the same as always with this beat.
Fast and lively and energetic beat.Good vocals.
Getting too caught up analyzing the music and you will have less time on the dance floor. Enjoy.
This music was good enough for me to come and state it.
Have a good day!

by: Moloko

Release Date June 08, 1999
I heard this song for a long time in the clubs and was very much a fan. The whole album Do You Like My Tight Sweater really blew me away. This is Trip Hop at it's best. Mid to Late 90's when electronica was all the rage.
The mixes on here are very diverse and eclectic so there is a little something for everyone. Wish I could bring those good old club days back. Everything now seems so serious.

Only in My Dreams 1998

CD-Charts > Music > CD Singles
by: Deborah Gibson

Release Date February 03, 1998

Miss Deborah Gibson teams up with Junior Vasquez in the studio to re-create Gibson's staple song "Only In My Dreams". For the late 1990's Deborah and Junior take the song into Euro Dance-Pop territory and what do you know? It works well. By the look of the cd's cover Miss Deborah does her aerobic exercise workouts to this High-NRG remake!

Now for the mixes. The club mix is complete and is the best on the disc. The shorter club version with Deb's "rap" comes in second and would have been good for radio. The Rave Vocal Mix takes it a bit serous with it's overall darker production. This mix is okay. Things get a bit repetitious with the four du(m)b mixes which seem to rehash each other over. Perhaps one dub mix for the Club and Rave ... Read More:

by: Aqua

Release Date November 17, 1997
Unlike the other reviews, which are all about how much the reviewer is obsessed with the song, this review is about the CD and the songs on it.
To start off, I find this song catchy and fun, but even a fan of aqua can (and probably will) get sick of this song after a while of repeated listenings, but that is no reason to enjoy it while you can.
Now, for the review of the actual CD-single of Barbie Girl:
This CD has four songs, with a total time of approx. 22 minutes, with the first track being the regular album version of the title song, and the other three songs are remixes of the same song.
The second track, the "extended edit" is pretty much just that, an extended version of barbie girl.
The Third song, Perky park club mix, ... Read More:

Come on Down

by: Crystal Waters

Release Date November 20, 2001
This single is a cool little "sampladelic" song, which samples the "Price Is Right" theme song. My grandma watches the show, and she laughed when she heard COD. Kudos to Ms. Waters! The song is a little odd due to its campiness, yet sophisticated in the vocals (I think this is one of the best vocal performances I've heard in a while).
My faves on this single are:
Track 1, the Live Element Radio Mix. How could you not love it?
Track 2, Tamperer Radio Mix. This removes the vocoders at certain parts and gives it more of a jazzy edge.
Tracks 3-6, 8: All the rest are good, except the Just Keith Sub Dub (Track 7), which just sounds creepy.
Anyway, TRY TO GET UR HANDS ON THIS!!! IF U LOVE 2 DANCE OR HAVE A GOOD TIME, U WILL NOT B DISAPPOINTED!!!! ... Read More:

This song is such a great tune to dance to or just drive in the car and sing out loud to . ATC is one of the best bands ever to hit the air waves and I have no clue at all why this awesome band broke up !!! They are by far the best band to come out of the early 2000's and by far the best dance band ever !!! I swear if you love dance music and great looking people to look at while listening to music this band and song are for you . Livio ( the blonde guy ) is by far the hottest guy ever !!!! 5 stars here in my book =-)
