"Raising Sand" is the haunting and brilliant collaboration between Robert Plant and Allison Krauss; it opens with my favorite track - the Sam Phillips song "Sister Rosetta Goes Before Us", which quickly demonstrates that there's a lot more going on here than the "Led Zeppelin goes Country" preconception that the notion of these two artists working together conjures up. The album continues with track after track enjoyment and surprise. This is yet another triumph for producer T Bone Burnett, who has incisively crafted a breath-taking soundscape, supported by some of the finest musicians working today, where the whole is deliriously more than the sum of the parts. It all sounds so effortless that you know it must have been quite the opposite ... Read More:

I liked the verbal sincerety and clarity of the instructor. His teaching style and playing command are inspiring, and for this I would give him 5 stars. I did get good tips from him that I now have to just practice as much as possible. The fact that the instructor taught his lessons with a Fender electric guitar throughout the DVD was a big turn off for me and unfortunately weighs quite a bit on my overall rating. I wish the DVD cover would not mislead customers, and I wisk that other reviewers had commented on this, as it would have changed my decision to purchase this DVD.

I was introduced to these guys a couple years ago, heard some live stuff, some burned copies, etc. I fell in love with "that voice" which I now know is Oliver Wood. This CD is just amazing. It is like sitting on a porch with the brothers (and a few guests who've stopped by) and just grooving. I played it non-stop for the first two weeks, and now my husband and I take turns stealing it back from one another. Check out the samples- if you like the voice, buy it. If you like blues-y simplicity, buy it. If you want something to dance or head-bop to, keep looking. I am desperate for them to come near me so I can see them live!

I preordered this CD. I just listen to it for the second time. This is satire at it's most boring. Don't bother with this CD. Ry has done much more interesting stuff, both lyrically and musically. Listen to the samples before you buy. I wish I did. If you like what you hear ignore this and go with your own tastes but for me "yuck!"
20+ years after their debut on CD, FINALLY, there are full remasters of "Moondance", "Street Choir" and "Astral Weeks".
The bad news?
They're not available domestically from Warner Music Group USA: All three are Warner Japan only.
And the really bad news?
As of today, Amazon doesn't stock the remasters (there is a 1996 Japan-released Moondance listed, but it is NOT the remaster, so don't waste your money). Hopefully, Amazon will correct this oversight soon. The catalog numbers for the three Japan Warner remasters are WPCR-75419, -20 and -21, which streeted in Japan on 6/25/08.
These classic albums, which we have all waited so long to be brought properly ... Read More:
