The high points of this is that for a small amount of money you are getting three of the best studio albums Whitesnake offers. They've been called everything from metal-glam to hard rock, and now are probably fading into the "classic rock" territory, although even that can be argued.

However, I'm not here to argue, just review this product, which for the most part, I'm pleased with. The strange thing about "Chronicles" is that there is not necessarily anything really special about it. It will look cool on your shelf, but if you already have the albums then it's redundant to have. For someone that wants something different from WS. Over those they just launched collections, I think there were 3, could you believe that? The album is fine and the lineup great. Good rock album

This is an excellent CD that introduce the buyer to different periods of Whitesnake...from the Blues Rock of the 70's to the Hard Rock of the 80's and the more relaxed projects of the 90's. A must in your Rock seccion of your CD collection.

Ready An' Willing

Whitesnake has two main era/styles - the shredding, flashy, hair metal group (with a revolving lineup) that got them famous in America at the end of the 80's, and the blues based (sometimes hard-) rock of the late 70's, early 80's, with a relatively steady band. The earlier days can be even more broken down between the first couple albums, with Duck Dowle on drums, and the more riffy hard-rock of the Ian Paice albums. This one kind of bridges that gap. There's a lot of heavily grooving blues-rock goin' on here, some fantastic singing from David Coverdale (whose rich voice here was quite the opposite of his later, screaming, Robert Plant-inspired style), and a couple nice acoustic and ballady tracks. Live... In the Heart of the City/Live at Hammersmith

This is not the best live album of David Coverdale, the best is live in the shadow of the blues, but this is great because you can listen on stage the old band, the performance is great,the songs are great too, but I don't like the solo of M. Moody, but this is my own opinion!

I think Amazon needs to pay me some dividends!! When this first came out Amazon was listing this for a price of between $35 and $45. I had to go elsewhere to get it for the price it was really worth. Now after paying $25 elsewhere, Amazon lists it for less than $20. What a rip off!!

Talk about amazing albums. I bought this many years ago when I was getting into Whitesnake the band, this album started it all.

I have it on vinal, and it sounds warm and rich. All tracks are
strong, but track 2, Blindman is a standout and is my favorite.

The whole album is solid, and I thought it was a lost masterpiece
before finding it and listening to it and enjoying it all over again.

Despite a lengthy career, both with Deep Purple and his own band Whitesnake, David Coverdale's big break came in the late 80's when he reinvented Whitesnake's sound for the hair metal era. The resulting albums - 1987's self-titled Whitesnake and 1989's Slip of the Tongue - are the band's best known works (thanks in no small part to some very memorable videos), and are collected in this great 2-disc set from French reissue label Axe Killer.
