Among the unplugged rock performances i have experienced lifetime, this is the most outstanding one. Speechless about Mr.Coverdale's vocal performance. I believe, no one on the earth could add more to these songs performing them. But feel I must also note that Mr.Vanderberg's existance adds what ever needed to flourish.

This is a unique example to show nothing is needed more to rock then a man singing accompanied by a guitar.

Highly reccomended not only for Whitesnake fans but also anyone who would like to listen music at the purest soulfull state.

Despite a lengthy career, both with Deep Purple and his own band Whitesnake, David Coverdale's big break came in the late 80's when he reinvented Whitesnake's sound for the hair metal era. The resulting albums - 1987's self-titled Whitesnake and 1989's Slip of the Tongue - are the band's best known works (thanks in no small part to some very memorable videos), and are collected in this great 2-disc set from French reissue label Axe Killer.

Disc 1 is the complete self-titled 1987 Whitesnake album, digitally remastered, with three bonus tracks - Looking for Love, Standing in the Shadows (remix), and Need Your Love So Bad (remix). Received this in Australia from Amazon supplier Import CD's within 2 weeks of ordering. Fantastic service. Coverdale still rocks as good as he used to. The band he has put together are real pros. Concert mix is a little heavy on the bass sound. The 4 new songs are circa 1987 Whitesnake.

This cd is great, you get your old favorites like "Love ain't no stranger" but then they leave out "Slide it in" and "Slow and Easy" which suprised me. Still, very worth listening to.

It is great to have a collection of Whitesnake's late 1970's and early 80's classics. The tracks on the album still sound good even though they range from 1978's "Trouble" to 1982's "Sinners". This collection all come from the period before the band broke in the USA, presumably this is the reason fro the Union Flag cover! There isn't a duff track on the album, which includes the original version of "Here I Go Again".
