The first time I saw Kristin Chenoweth in a movie was the TV "Music Man". Just lately I listened to the "Wicked" soundtrack, and after that, I've been listening to Kristin's CDs whenever I can. This one is a jazzy, Broadway-type CD with fun, engaging songs. She's a different type of singer, and while not everyone might enjoy her voice, I really do. If you like Broadway, jazz, drama, romance, or just fun, catchy songs, this is a CD for you.

This C-D contains remastered music from many of the
best musicals I remember from my youth. The only
thing I miss is the video because at times there is
only the sound of tapdancing.
I enjoy singing along with the music while driving
my car. Just as good as singing in the shower!

Of course there should have been much more. I remember there been a Metropolian Opera series called CAST ALBUMS- 100 YEARS that was put out for a limited time only and had like five volumes.
As Peter Filichia noted they left out SHE LOVES ME, BRIGADOON and SWEENEY TODD. Also nothing from PACIFIC OVERTURES, BIG RIVER, CHESS, CRAZY FOR YOU, JEKYLL & HYDE, TITANIC, THE SCARLET
PIMPERNEL, FOOTLOOSE- THE MUSICAL, THE FULL MONTY, URINTOWN...
But they couldn't have put it all. I would have done without Lee Remick's
"Anyone Can Whistle", because the show was a flop. I guess because it was Sondheim's first "serious" show...

This 1971 revival/reworking of "No, No, Nanette" evokes memories of the earlier days of Broadway musicals (which I never experienced personally, but have heard on some vintage recordings). The show was loaded with pre-production problems. Cast members were replaced; replacements were replaced; the director was replaced; the book adapter was replaced; one coproducer was forced out; the choreographer was inadequate for the job and had to be bailed out by others more capable than he (and he won a Tony, basically for the work others had done); new songs were dropped; the remaining producer tried unsuccessfully to have her daughter cast in the title role. Still, the whole thing worked. The professional reviewers liked it; three rave reviews, three ... Read More:

I saw this movie and I loved the songs. All the songs in the soundtrack are a winner. Jane Froman went through a lot in her life but she still managed to make good music. I recommend this soundtrack if you love her music.

Finally, Judy "ALONE" on cd plus the added bonus of "JUDY IN LOVE" what more could one ask ? It was so good to get this cd and reminiece about when I first heard the album. I was 13 and was always scrimping and saving to get my next record album. I joined Capital Record Club and salivated when I received the "ALONE" album and placed it on my record player. Gordon Jenkins mournful strains to the beautiful singing of Judy just made it such a special album and I loved listening to it on a rainy day. Not that I'm a depressed person but just the warm, secure feel of listening to a great entertainer making the most of some great songs.
I hope a new generation will get turned on to a voice that made life alot pleasanter and fun to deal with. Music gives ... Read More:

I'm an admirer of Previn as both classical and jazz musician, and in both categories he excels. This album has the same intimate, highly musical quality that you'll find in Keith Jarrett's The Melody at Night with You. What I appreciate about both is the fact that the pianist's invention always serves the music; it's never obtrusively artful or showy. Highly recommended. Do yourself a favor and get Jarrett's disc to go along with this.
