My husband and I love old music and old cars. My husband bought me a 1957 Pink T-Bird for Valentines Day and he said it reminded him of the movie American Grafitti. He had made the comment about wanting the movie sometime. When I went to Amazon.Com to purchase the movie, they had the movie and the soundtrack at a good combined price. We listen to it around the house and we are going to have the stereo in the T-Bird modified so we can use this soundtrack when we are out cruisin'. Even my 16 year old daughter loves the soundtrack.

Shrek - Music From the Original Motion Picture

If you love the movie SHREK this is a fun CD with lots of music from the film that runs the gamut from raucous to melodic. All this musical variety makes for kind of a disjointed listening experience but the CD still brings back fond memories of my favorite fractured fairy tale every time I listen to it. It's a favorite CD in my classroom for high needs special education students since most of the kids are big fans of all things Shrek related.

I'm not in the habit of buying movie soundtracks, in fact I think this is my second, the first was a cassette a long time ago(Sliver?). Cameron Crowe and his wife Nancy Wilson (who is actually responsible for the movie score by the way) obviously have a very acute appreciation for music.

I'm sure that more songs could have been added but they chose what they thought was most appropriate. Personally I am not a fan of every single song but I can listen to them.

My favorite song is Elton John's Tiny Dancer because of how well it goes with what I consider to be the best scene in the movie. I noticed from some of the other reviews that I am not the only one who thinks that. Every time I hear the song now I think of that scene on ... Read More:

This movie is SO GOOD!!! It's a true story about a white coach and a black coach in 1950's America who join forces and coach a high school football team who just began integration. It is about racial equality and handles this subject in a wonderful manner. I love this movie so much, I can watch it over and over and over. It is a heartwarming movie and it really makes you think about racial issues, too, in a very good way. Also, the soundtrack is awesome!!

This CD as well as a previous CD I ordered from Amazon came with a cracked plastic case. Didn't affect the CD, but rendered the storage cases ineffective.

Unlike purchasing a whole CD of songs that have one or maybe two songs in a movie I like, I enjoy purchasing the soundtracks of my favorite movies, especially when they are familiar songs that bring back not only memories of the movie but times in your life when they were popular or they marked a special time. It's like having the best of both worlds..

Bought this for my daughter who watches the movie over and over and over and Love both movie and music so I surprised her with it, needless to say it was a hit for both daughter and her boyfriend as well as with my 8 year old granddaughter.
