20/20by: Trip Lee Release Date May 20, 2008 First off, it sounds to me that Trip Lee has been baptised in the Holy Spirit. Good!! Some of his tracks on "20/20" are rather convicting and have something to say. I will admit, several of his tracks have beats and melodies with production quality that equals, if not surpasses, much of the mainstream hip hop/rap of the radio. That is a good sign (hopefully, it will be more appealing to secular audiences - this goes for the people who only listen to the beat, and/or to the people who prefer lyrics over beat - or whatever). Personally, I thoroughly enjoy multiple tracks on this album due greatly to the beat and melody. On to the lyrical side of the album. Here is where I feel the album faulters. If they only knewby: Trip Lee Release Date October 03, 2006 Unique sound from a gospel cat from Philly. Every track is something to bounce to and the message is great too. I listen to Gospel Hip-Hop on a regular bases, and I can say this CD is one of the best. Can't wait for a sophomore release. |

It has it all: the original score by maestro George Fenton, the pop numbers from the era, some standards from the past and even some bits from the original dialogues!Also you can enjoy actors Williams and Jeters performing two tracks. If you loved the movie, you'll love this cd and if you're a fan of Terry Gilliam's, this is a must own, indeed. -@ |
