Definitely a solid follow up to Yes, Virginia, and partially because many of the songs are those that didn't make it on the previous CD.
Its a fun album but does feel a little B -side at times. Despite this its still immensely enjoyable, and indicative of the Dresden Dolls unique sound, lyrics, and energy. A must have for the DD fan.

My pal Patrick told me I would love this album and I wanted to run out and buy it but everytime I saw it, it was too frickin' expensive (I have a strange no over $10 rule when I go uber shopping) so I never bought it, though I did get a download of "Sing" and really liked it.
But then Dresden Dolls were tapped to do the True Colors tour last year with my gals Cyndi Lauper and a gal I like to call Debbie Harry so I thought I should check them out and before I even did, a new video for their song "Shores Of California" came out and I was officially hooked.
I bought the album and haven't stopped listening to it. In fact every song is just as good if not better than the one that proceeded it. Full of sarcastic humor and tongue in ... Read More:

Wow! I bought this CD on a whim, and I have to say it is just as good, if not better, than the Dresden Dolls self-titled debut album.
This CD really captures the angst and emotion of Palmer's voice, and there are eight new songs on this CD. Eight! And the live versions of "Missed Me" and "Coin-Operated Boy" just sound better on this live disc.
If you can find this through a third-party seller on Amazon, buy it now! You will listen to it over and over in your car, if you're anything like me...

2. CONTAMINATION: A Tribute to David Bowie (2-disc deluxe edition)I found this by accident when looking up music for the Dresden Dolls - but what a wonderful find. Dresden Dolls, Voltaire, The Brides, David J...how can you go wrong? Actually other highlights are from the Metrosexuals (Andy Warhol), Mr. Russia (Boys), Heart's Fail (Man Who Sold the World)and Tides of Mars (a great cover of Scary Monsters). Meg Lee Chin's cover of Heroes is the best I've ever heard. Very few misses here - just keep an open mind. The Brides' John I'm Only Dancing is dead on!

Old porcelain toys are what come to mind when you hear the name of the "Dresden Dolls." But their faces and their music sure won't make you think of toys. It's very different from what I had expected, with its raw lyrics and complex piano'n'drums music, and left me expecting future great things from the most original new group in eons.
The sound of a piano builds up to a crescendo in the pummelling, jerky "Good Day," a barbed, sarcastic little ditty. It's not a funny song, but has a dark humor that shines through in the deceptively simple, searing "Bad Habit," the jazzy, self-examining "Perfect Fit," and the quirky, funny "Coin Operated Boy," which is the sweetest song ever devoted to a, uh, robotic sex toy.
Some songs are a little more downbeat, ... Read More:

Only a brave band would have a gleeful song about a sex change as the FIRST song of their sophomore album. Well, that says something about the Dresden Dolls.
This wild, Tim-Burtonesque band created a stir with their debut album a few years back, and now the cabaret-rockers are back with "Yes Virginia." It's catchy. It's kitschy. It's dark and cutting, even as the Dresden Dolls refine their signature sound into ever more potent music.
It opens with a rippling piano line, but it slowly grows darker and more twisted... until the drums kick in. Amanda Palmer begins gleefully singing the ode of an apprehensive sex-change patient: "Dear Mr. and/or Mrs. Sender/We're pleased to inform you that your applications been accepted/Starting from the time you get this ...
