I love this remix CD !
I was presently surprised.
I think I like the remixes better that the origionals except the The perfect boy, I prefer the origional mix to the remix.
The 5th track, the 21 minute megamix, by 65 Days of Static is great too.
It is a unique idea to have a megamix of all 4 songs into 1 song.
To the reviewer that says track 5 was a throwaway track, I completly disagree. Anyone that saw 65 degrees of Static open up for The cure ontour this summer will be thrilled to see they did a remix of all 4 tracks. It is unique and I love it. Yea, it goes on and on and on for 21 minutes, that is the point, but it certainly is not a boring track.

An unimpressive album, used only a couple great tracks, otherwise n good. And the worst part is it can not be ripped by a computer! ...what gives!?
Release Date August 12, 2008
this is easily the best single out of the four they have released this year. and the b-side is even better. pick it up.
completely unrelated, but not really.
the new album judging by these singles is NOT going to be their best.
however, i think the album's opener "underneath the stars" might be their best since plain song. i wasn't fortunate enough to have seen them play it but i have seen it on you tube, and the song rules.

Epic goth-pop with sumptuous production at times recalls label 4AD's pioneering sounds but with The Cure the sound is completely fleshed out for an accessibly dark enjoyment. Although the pacing and sometimes stark minimalist instrumentation veer towards plodding, the band had a knack for letting these confined compositions stretch out and breathe on this very solid, often considered quintessential, release.
Release Date July 15, 2008
"Sleep When I'm Dead" is definitely the most Cure-like of the new singles, and a little adventurous even. Sure, as with all of the singles the sound quality lacks, is far too compressed, and lacking character, but song-wise this is definitely the best. Plus, "Down Under" is one of the best recorded new songs I've heard!
Release Date October 25, 1990
the cure's singles and best known melodic songs burn with passion and sheer genius.
It would be hard not to lose oneself in a glowing review.... however, that said, whoever came up with the following review quote, has managed to plumb the depth of the barrel of idiocy, and lose a piece of very relevant clarity:
"But for the rest of us who actually appreciate melodies as long as they aren't too commercialized"
If anyone anywhere can ascribe any sort of rational logical meaning to this gibberish, please write to the following people:

here, there and everywhere (mccartney, i presume)

As a long time, Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me era, fan of The Cure, I didn't know what to make of the first single "The One One". With "Freakshow" however, everything came together with the band firing on all cylinders. You can even hear the impact of returning genius guitarist Porl Thompson as he cuts lose. Oh and I loved the cow bell an added touch by a still great band who will go on as long as we are willing to listen and be Cured.....
Release Date May 20, 2008
I like this song much better than "Sleep When I'm Dead" or "Freakshow", but it seems almost as inconsequential as "High". "High" is decent enough, but when it was left off their most recent greatest hits and when I don't hear it live, it's not a tragic loss. But, the singles are always worth it for the non-album B-Sides. Maybe I'll change my mind about "The Only One" after the album comes out. I found "Freakshow" unlistenable until I saw The Cure perform it live, and now it's grown on me--I sort of understand it as "Hot Hot Hot" in the scheme of things, but I still don't think it'll get in the top 2/3 of my favorite songs by the band.
