What can I say, I love Tab Benoit music. He is what you would call a Pro and a gentlemen. Awesome on stage and off.

Louisiana blues ace Tab Benoit recorded this album using another Louisiana legend Leroux as his back up band for the album. The title track tackles the subject of the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and it's effect on the city of New Orleans. Tab is in fine form throughout this album. His guitar playing is crisp and clean and his voice is as gruff and soulful as ever. Benoit has been churning out his special brand of Cajun blues for well over a decade now and it is a formula that he continues to improve on . Highlights include "Don't Make No Sense", "Power Of The Pontchartrain", "Midnight And Lonesome", "Sac-Au-Lait Fishing", and "One Foot In The Bayou". Tab also covers a cool version of Stephen Still's "For What It's Worth" with lyrics ... Read More:

Tab once again continues to provide blues the way it should be. His down south style and him pouring his heart and soul into his music is what makes me a true fan of his. I've seen him on multiple occassions and he has never disappointed me in the least. One thing he does do is leave me in awe every time I see him. This album I never bought when it first came out and regret that now. I ordered it along with his newest album and am glad that I did. He is a real class act and loves his fans as much as he loves them.

Debbie Davies has released many CDs over the years, but this one clearly stands out. Often these types of CDs, which involve a 'Who's Who' of contemporary blues artists, do not live up to expectations -- this one is definitely an exception. Put Davies together with Musselwhite, Benoit, and Montoya and sparks fly. Debbie wrote 4 of the 9 songs, while the rest are covers. The 'A.C. Strut' with Coco Montoya is a tribute to Debbie's mentor, Albert Colins, and it really rocks. Listen to Musselwhite on 'Movin' and Groovin' and you will soon understand why he is often referred to as "the Dean of Blues Harmonica" -- outstanding. Tab does a great rendition of Hooker's 'Crawling King Snake' with his Louisiana swamp style, as he is joined by Debbie. On ... Read More:

The Cajun side of blues. Lived in Tab's hometown for a year and know what he sings about. Good guitar and a beat that makes you tap your feet.

Upon the death of SRV, Rolling Stone asked, 'how does it feel to be the best blues guitar player alive today?' E.C. replied, "I've no idea, go ask Tab Benoit."
I've seen him in person - a wonderful, powerful, full-on assault of blues and bending the frets as he cares to - and now own several of TB's works, and love them all.
If your taste for the blues runs like mine - ZZ Top to Clapton to SRV to Robert Randolph and the Family Band to Muddy Waters to Buddy Guy to Erida Badu to the Blues Brothers - ANY of Tab's works will make you smack your lips in indulgence and reflect 'mighty tasty indeed'.

There's something about Tab Benoit that reminds me of John Fogerty, and I mean that in the most positive possible way.
Benoit brings together a mix of influences from the Louisiana gumbo of his musical upbringing and produces a fine album here. Of the thirteen tracks on this disk, he wrote five, and arranged the rest. The tracks he didn't write draw on such diverse origins as Albert Collins, Willie Dixon, and even Hank Williams. "Greatness creates, genius steals" -- and Benoit steals from only the best.
He brings strong chops to his work, and all the songs are driven by his undoubted guitar skill. He takes hold of Hank Williams' "Jambalaya" and makes it his own while remaining true to the classic original. ... Read More:

Tab Benoit is by far my favorite blues artist that I have seen perform on many an occassion. I own every one of his cds and when this special project cd came out I didn't hesitate to buy a copy. As stated in other reviews the title is somewhat misleading but that made no difference to me. I absolutely love the album and it shows another side of Tab that you might not otherwise get to see although he does play some of these songs during his live performances as well. If you have never seen him play your really missing out.

If your foot isn't tappn' and your body swaying by the time the second chord comes 'round, call 911 cause you not livin' no more! Ain't nothn' slow 'bout this album. It's the glisten of his fingers on the fret board and the shimmy of his strummn' across, on top and all around the strings that give this work a gritty soul. My AC nearly broke cause cause all the boggy steam this album let loose.
