I have more experience with other genres of music, but am interested in basically all kinds. I have been collecting CDs for nearly 2 decades but had no Opera in my collection. I did a little research and arrived at a conclusion. If I wanted the most and best Opera music for my money, I had to get this title, which is a double album, and "The Most Famous Opera Duets". Well, the latter was a steal with a list price under four dollars, and the former was a truly good compilation of many uplifting, diverse, impactful, and pleasant pieces. I am satisfied with my purchases and have filled the gap in my music collection. I can't see Opera getting better than this and the other title I mentioned. Enjoy!

This band was introduced to me by my brother who lives many states away via text..."Everyone is freaking out that I haven't told you about this band yet sis..." he said...so naturally the next time I was at a computer I jumped onto Amazon and starting serching for the album that he suggested I start with "Us Against the Crown"...seeing that they had a new album "year of the Crow" I thought...what the hey, I'll go ahead and splurge! So, while I love both albums, I would probably take five or six songs off of each one to create the ultimate in State Radio listening pleasure. I think that I would have to choose "CIA" and "Gang of Thieves" as the two knockout songs on the disc, but again, this album needs a lot of airtime to fully appreciate the depth and soul ... Instruments of the Orchestra

As a music educator, I've found the recorded excerpts to be wonderfully and logically organized and presented. I've always been an instrumental music teacher only, but find myself teaching general music classes this year, and absolutely love what I've used so far. The last disc alone shows the fascinating evolution of the modern orchestra. Every other track is narrative text, the script of which is printed in the booklet, and I present that info myself, modifying as needed and answering questions during that time. I've only skimmed the other information from the booklet on my own, and look forward to reading and learning more! I'll be buying another copy of Instruments of the Orchestra for my school to own in the near future.

I had this collection and lost it in 2000 when moving to a new house. I took me a time to find it but after having it again I can say it is the most valuable selection of classic music, it is truly the 100 top masterpieces and the sound is excellent.

I picked up this little known opera by this early 20th Century Polish composer out of curiosity. What a discovery!!! This is a true bargain, a nicely priced recording of a beautiful opera in a fine performance and recording. As soon as I heard the opening chorus I was hooked. This work deserves to be better known and would play well on any major opera stage in the world. This is a lush, exotic, tuneful piece of music. Don't hesititate to shell out the relatively few dollars for this record. You will not regret your purchase.
