yes folks we have it right here 2008 album of the year and it is Labor Day weekend so not much left to come out besides the new Metallica so anyway lets get down to business this one took me by surprise because the last Soulfly album Dark Ages was borderline incredible this one is arguably thier finest moment clocks in at 71 minutes or so and never a dull moment they tear your head off with their thrash and then they get into experimental tribal stuff which is common for them but just briefly in most songs, highlights include most everything but # 1 blood fire war hate is a great starter # 3 paranoia # 4 warmageddon # 7 fall of the Psychophants #8 Doom and especially # 10 touching the void total Black Sabbath worship {they even say in the ... This album was a nice surprise when I first listened to it. It rocks from beginning to end. There are parts that remind me of old school Sepultura and Max's growls are even better than Dark Ages. Great album!
Release Date September 26, 2000
I heard only the first three tracks of this cd and im already blown away. Ive never listened to Soulfly before but im very happy that I picked up this. Back da f*)# up is a great song, and I cant wait to hear the one with Tom from Slayer. A great cd and very good use of instruments.
Release Date October 04, 2005
Awesome! Aside from Cavalera Conspiracy, this and Conquer are Max's best work since his Sepultura days! Any fan of the original Sepultura, Soulfly, or all things Max should thoroughly enjoy this release. Very heavy, no weak sh** here! This album, Conquer, and 3 are my favorite Soulfly albums, but even Soulfly at their worst is better than any Sepultura album with Derrick Green! Sepultura should have changed their name to Green Hell when Max left and Derrick stepped in, but that's another story.
Release Date April 21, 1998
Celebrating ten years with this bad boy made me realize how any piece of music with the name CAVALERA on it gleams with quality. The opening track 'eye for an eye' has Burton and Dino from Fear Factory, I love how the song knocks you on your a$$ after 0:13 of silence. I don't care about the god infused lyrics keep in mind Max and Iggor started SEPULTURA an originally satanic band. Fred Durst being on 'bleed' is fine, good song. Worth it for lyrics like "no motherfĂ—Ă—king hootie and the blowfish!"
Release Date June 25, 2002
I don't understand all the negative reviews. To me this album sounds a lot like Sepultura with some elements unique to Soulfly thrown in. If you are one of the many estranged fans of Sepultura (since Max left), definitely check this album out! That's not to say that every track is a winner or that there may be some things you may not enjoy, such as Max's usual fondness for guest singers (though he has done that ever since Roots), or a few "spiritual"( but not Christian, according to Max) lyrics. However, his vocals kick major @ss, the album is very heavy, and to me, conjures up memories of Roots. Soulfly is a band that has taken some getting used to for me, as I am not a religious man and was turned off by the lyrics at first. After reading interviews with Max ... Read More:

This is Soulfly's best. Dark Ages is pretty good, but this sounds much better. Some of the songs are a bit 'funky' like Moses, but they are really fun to listen to. The only skippable songs are possibly 10, which is just ok, and the second half of 12. It starts out a nice song, and ends with some random New Orleans Saints Came Marching In funky crap. Otherwise, each track is really, really good.
Release Date August 30, 2005
After Roadrunner decided to re-release Sepultura's Roots album for their 25th anniversary, I knew right off the bat, that they would re-release the Soulfly album as well, since it is considered to be Roots Part 2. I was disappointed somewhat with the Roots Re-release, seeing very little new bonus material and deciding there wasn't enough information in the booklet. I got a hold of this new edition with the aid of a gift card. If you don't have this album yet, this is the version to buy. If you already have had this album (such as myself), then you should hunt down a used copy or get it for a cheaper price than the $20 that Roadrunner is asking for.
There are 3 versions of this album available (not including the imports). The original version, the original ... Read More:

First of all, if you are new to Soulfly, this would be the album I would suggest to start with. It offers the most variety out of any of their first five albums, ranging from heavy rock to full-on heavy metal assault, as well as some of Max's ethnic music finding it's way in here and there.
This is my favorite Soulfly album, because this was the one I started with, and it has the best set of guest musicians/vocalists on it. Chino Moreno from Deftones sings on "Pain". Corey Taylor from Slipknot sings on "Jumpdaf##kup". Sean Lennon sings on "Son Song". Those are three of the best songs on the cd, which is very solid throughout. Tom Arraya from Slayer also makes an appearance. Very cool. I enjoy it when artists from different bands get together. It usually ends up being very ... Read More:
