Agent Orange

Don't get me wrong based on the title, I love this album, and everything Sodom recorded. Just like South of Heaven, Countdown to Extiction, Practice What you Preach and The Black Album, people thought this was the best album based on album sales, where in reality, it was the albums before these ones that were the great ones. Agent Orange is a fantastic album, but it is no Tapping the Vein, or Persecution Mania. Sodom is the greatest thrash band ever because they have never drastically changed their sound. Sure they got heavier for Tapping the Vein, and even slowed down a bit for Sodom, but don't be fooled by record sales. If you like thrash metal buy any Sodom album. Better Off Dead

ok it might not have riffs as memorable in persecution mania or even agent orange, but it is a rock solid album and very enjoyable too. all songs are heavy and kick [butt] and not too many fast ones (actually the sound is more mature than that in their earlier releases). stand-out songs are "an eye for an eye", "saw is the law", "never neverland" and "stalinorgel".

After over 20 years the only original member is Angelripper and looks like he keeps changing musicians for the better. This is a very good thrash CD. Unlike their older stuff that was OK and once in a while you'd notice little things that gave you a clue that they were not that good, this CD is excellent, everything is tight! If you are getting frustrated like me with some of the Nu metal, try some of the newer thrash like this one.

Boots

First off, let me say that this is an excellent piece of work, period. Women of Sodom could be a force to be reckoned with in the arena of female-lead electro acts...if they had more exposure and maybe cranked out a little more music. Having visited their website, I've seen the photos of their blistering S&M shows and I cannot wait for them to tour through my city. "Boots" is probably the most traditionally industrial sounding track on the album. "Jews and Arabs Become Friends" has sort of a Dead Can Dance-esque Middle Eastern sound to it that I really enjoyed. "The Doctor Song" gave me the creeps for some time -- just the thought of that...ugh! -- it's lyrics telling a story about being examined in front of a roomful of medical students, with lines like, ... Persecution Mania

Sodom is a band you love or hate. With that being said, Sodom released Persecution Mania a Thrash Metal record that both influenced Death, and Black Metal and a key importance in the development of those said genres. Sodom is a very straight forward Thrash act, and while not as memorable as say other Thrash acts such as Kreator, Destruction, or perhaps the big 4 thrash acts of the United States its influence and attitude can't be ignored. If for nothing else, buy this album for is influence on other metal genres, especially if your a Black and Death metal fan.

Definitivamente SODOM irrumpió la escena metalera a nivel mundial con un gran ep llamado The Sign of Evil que fue justamente lo primero que escuché de los alemanes. Personalmente es el disco que más me gusta. Mas que una apreciación objetiva, es una apreciación llena de emoción pues era adolescente cuando escuché por primera vez.
Persecution mania, gran disco un cambio a la crudeza demostrado inicialmente pero con mucha fuerza y grandes riff, gran preambulo para una joya que llegaría despues ya saben a que disco me refiero.

Released as a five song EP in 1984, the classic "In the Sign of Evil" inspired thousands of thrash and death metal bands. The original was extremely well produced for a metal debut back then. It featured some of the most insane and unique drumming of any metal band to date. Why re-record it? Certainly, the poorly produced follow-up "Obsessed by Cruelty" (1986) is much more in need of a face-lift.

As the story from the high quality, full color booklet CD sleeve goes, Sodom had self-recorded 12 songs in very poor quality prior to receiving their first record deal. Sodom makes both Kreator and Slayer sound angelic, and even all three know how to rock. the first song starts off slow and then it hits you at full speed. like all thrash bands, Sodom hits you with the fury of a dozen linebackers. Sodom sounds like Slayer would if the latter band moved to Germany and one of the guys quit guitar. leaving one to do all the work. Angelripper has the voice reminiscent of Tom Araya.
