An interesting proposition this. Two different composers were at work here. Tracks one through to nine were composed by Trevor Jones. Tracks ten through to fifteen were by Randy Edelman. Quite why this arrangement was adopted I don't know but the feel of the album, which is so important with a soundtrack, is intact. Which speaks volumes for collaborative album construction.
The music here has to, and succeeds in, encompassing a number of moods. Much of the music needs to be stirring and there are no better examples around of stirring music than track three, The Kiss, or tracks five and six, Fort Battle and Promontory respectively. Other parts of the film score required a mood of tense expectation such as track ten, The courier. ... Read More:

I've watched about half the series so far and that was enough reason alone for me to buy the soundtrack. (spoiler alert) The highlight for me was "Fife and Gun" when Reynolds died. The music from that piece has an almost European feel to it. From listening to the samples it looks like they have Edelman's orchestral score on this CD while all the marching band music and music that was supposed to have been played by characters on screen is on the other soundtrack disc. I enjoy orchestral scores better so I'll be sticking to just this album. Your opinion may differ.

Say what you will. The year:1989. I was six years old. Ghostbusters were the equivelant to Jesus. Bobby Brown was the link between me and my older cousin, as we were both fans of the single ON OUR OWN. I snatched a quarter from my moms everyday so I could play the track on the jukebox at Franks Pizza. Once my moms got sick of me hanging out at the smokey pizza place, and snatching her quarters, she broke down and bought me the tape. Ghostbusters II soundtrack. I can still listen to this thing. SUPERNATURAL by New Edition... holy late eighties! SPIRIT by Doug E. Fresh still rocks the roof off. Run DMC do a cool update of the Ghostbusters theme song, but i must confess that I would have liked the original Ray Parker version on here as well. The first Ghostbusters ... Read More:

I purchased the Dragon Heart soundtrack in the beginning of September. My son's High School Marching Band is performing the music during their fall marching band season. I thought it would be a good idea for him to listen to the soundtrack in hopes that it would help his own performance. I don't know if I would have listened to it otherwise but I have really enjoyed it. My youngest son who is 8 - has been overheard sitting at the kitchen table - doing his homework - humming the soundtrack to himself. Beautiful music - I recomend it.

Fun show, ingenuos concept, so-so score, with one exception. The ballad With Every Breath I Take is brilliant. One of Coleman's best pieces.

I also grew up watching this movie and listening to the Chipmunks. I now have a 2 year old daughter, and it appears that she loves it just as much! She has regularly requested to watch this, and she loves dancing to the music! As a matter of fact, the past few days she has watched it at least 3 times a day, and I don't mind at all. It's so fun!

You get what you want from this. All of the epic music from Peter Jackson's 2005 King Kong film. Highly recommended to hardcore fans.

... but this one wasn't as good as the first one. By "first" I mean that soundtrack that has Daniel Day-Lewis on the cover. Something about that one was just magical. Don't get me wrong, this is a great soundtrack but the first one had... "it". To the trained ear you can tell the difference in a number of the tracks.
I guess I'll have to buy the original CD and burn it.
