The Most Soothing Lullabies In The Universe

I was very pleased with this collection. It is simply just beautiful classical music that hasn't been dumbed down for babies, like so many other albums seem to be. It also does NOT have any 'new age' like adaptions, which was a big plus for me personally. My daughter has not had any problems drifting to sleep while it's playing. I would definitely recommend this as a great first CD for your baby!

This is a great product. The kids love it. Some reviews have mentioned that the lead vocalist is not very melodic. However, I see this as a plus. He has a zany way of cracking his voice which is a hilarious complement to the other opera-class voices on the CD.
My kids seem to love the instrumental-only versions now that they associate these with the vocal versions.

This product is wonderful and i would recommend it to anybody who is expecting a baby. It can be used also later on when the baby is born of course so it is a never-ending beautiful piece of music.

The Magic Of Lang Lang

...as in what's supposed to be funny about calling this guy the world's most successful pianist? But then, if I got in line for the punch, maybe he'd sound better.

I went to my local CD shop in Berkeley to hear Lang Lang after discovering that two of my most respected reviewer/correspondents on amazon both loathed him furiously. Now I understand why. I should have suspected something when the clerk, an old friend, looked at me as if I were crazy when I asked him to play The Magic of Lang Lang on the store system. Glad I didn't order anything up front. Lang Lang has no great technique, no fast fingers, no subtle touch. And he has interpretational gifts only a pampered child at a private school recital could admire.

I will join the throng of positive reviews for this outstanding bargain CD.

I own/have owned numerous performances of the magisterial Brahms Violin Concerto but have never been satisfied with any of them, including Heifetz/Reiner (actually, ESPECIALLY Heifetz/Reiner!). While there are many wonderful recordings of his chamber music, I've always felt that interpretations of his orchestral music in general--the Violin Concerto in particular--have been much more problematic. There are great recordings out there, but too many times I feel like conductors just don't 'get' Brahms' large-scale orchestral works (the Serenades, Overtures are understandably less problematic).

The World's Favorite Piano Music

If you a piano student, your teacher will probably assign you at least half of the compositions in this CD. You need to hear how they should be played. This is a wonderful CD to use to help you learn the pieces. These piano selections are not the "World's Favorites" for nothing - they are memorable and enjoyable for young and old alike. I love this CD.
