This CD was AMAZING! It may not be the best Beatles album (Help! and Rubber Soul are, in my opinion), but it's The Beatles, so of course, you gotta love it! 5/5 stars!

After the mixed reception that greeted the charmingly homemade "McCartney" (1970), Sir Paul returned to the studio for this uneven album. Though "Ram" earned a bad rap from critics, it surpasses the appalling mediocrity of "Wild Life" and "Red Rose Speedway." There is one classic track (the elaborate "Back Seat of My Car") and tuneful ditties such as "Ram On," "Dear Boy" and "Heart of the Country." McCartney's first solo hit, "Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey," remains a catchy annoyance while "Long Haired Lady" is simply annoying. At least he still rocks on "Smile Away," "Monkberry Moon Delight" and "Too Many People" - a John & Yoko critique that sparked Lennon's vicious "How Do You Sleep?" The virtues and weaknesses of Early McCartney are on full ... Read More:

Of courseI enjoy anything (well almost anything) by Paul McCartney. The Amazon prices are great and delivered right to my door!
Release Date October 25, 1990
"Maybe I'm Amazed", "That Would Be Something" and "Every Night" validate the cost of the CD alone. However, for those who have an interest in the growth and maturing of an iconic musician McCartney is a must have. The rawness of the production and individuality of this one man show (with the exception of Linda's vocals) perhaps was what Paul needed to continue musically post-Beatles.
For you younger listeners, with no interest in the growth of Paul's talent, get the three tracks at the very least.

I'm trying to fill in my CD collection since the prices have gotten so low. I'm not sure why I never moved this album from vinyl to CD, but finally did it and I'm glad I did.
"Band on the Run" isn't my favorite McCartney CD, but it does have some of my favorite songs on it, including:
Band on the Run

Jet
With the extended version, this CD is well worth the price and a nice addition to the collections of Beatle fans.

I was a Paul Fan back in the day. Thought I would marry him one day. Hey hey hey!
Stop that madness. Paul married well the second time. I'm so glad. Not only does he pay tribute to the late Linda McCartney in the second song ("The Lovely Linda") on the second CD, but he provides happiness to his fans both old and new in this Wings compilation. Seven years after its release, it is just now playing in my car. Actually, I intended to purchase Venus and Mars, one of my all-time favorite albums (which vinyl version I have not replaced). Because the music store did not have it, I bought "Wingspan" instead.
The two CDs in the set are so different. The first CD is a selection of some of Wings greatest hits, while the second is surprises (for me). This ... Read More:

I really enjoy my Wings CD - I play it in my car often and I spend a lot of time driving so this CD gets a lot of play!!!!!!!
Release Date June 05, 2007
This album is OK, but a stepdown from McCartney's recent high point Chaos and Creation in the Backyard. It's more Like Shouting and Noise in the backyard -- yet oddly tuneful & harmonic. In a word, bizarre. I don't mind hearing McCartney shout, mind you, he has always been one of the few who can do it pleasingly, adding grit over his well known tendancy to the saccharine. The album does have an overall fresh sound, not over-dubbed, and some of the takes sound like early ones.
The lyrics, at best, are happy McCartney nonsense songs, like nursery rhymes. At worst they are self-searching, death obsessed, and maudlin. No amount of explication can redeem this. All that said, there are only a couple real turkeys -- but wow -- total turkeys they indeed are, insipid, simplistic, ... Read More:

Placido Domingo is a great man...I love his music and will always continue to listen to him...he is so relaxing for me to hear...
I loved this CD with John Denver singing my favorite "Perhaps Love"
It is a keeper for sure...
