I've always enjoyed Hardcastle's sound including the Jazzmasters work. This CD continues that unique sound BUT has the surprising addition of tracks with bumpin' bass. If you have a system with a subwoofer, it will come alive and move you. The tracks I'm referring to may also very well be some of his most soulful-sounding work as well. There are some smooth slow, down-tempo tracks as well to mellow you out or create a romantic mood.

This is truly a treat for those who value smooth Jazz and good music. Paul Hardcastle is a genius and keeps coming up with brilliant compositions. 5 star rating all the way.

Jazzmaster's V is simply a perfect CD that one will play over and over again. I particularly like "Children of the Ghetto". Buy it if you like Paul Hardcastle, or never even heard of his magic. There are no regrets with this CD.

My husband tells me what he wants for presents and I get it. I ordered this with Hardcastle 5, as requested, but I didn't know he already had Hardcastle 4. He now has 4 in 2 places that has not been a problem. You will enjoy any of Hardcastles' music.

This CD was not as smooth as Hardcastle 5 or $ but I still would recommend it. I really like his music style.

The Smooth Cuts

I had heard Paul Hardcastle but never put the name to the music. I purchased "Paul Hardcastle 5" and started going back and getting his other recordings. This and "Jazzmasters V" are suberb smooth jazz albums. A must for any collection.

I must admit, I have not bought this album yet (it's on the way). But based on two songs I have heard, I am looking forward to listening to it for the first time. One of the songs is 'You Are the One', a typical Hardcastle ballad with 5-star production and extremely enjoyable. The other tune I have heard is 'Money'. Yes, this is the Floyd tune from Dark Side of the Moon. While I consider DSOTM a masterpiece (oh how so many apply that word to so much average material these days), I always had a problem with it. The problem was 'Money'. I never liked it and the fact that commercial radio ran it into the ground (per usual) just made it worse. But Hardcastle's version is awesome. As with JAZZMASTERS (which I also have), on JAZZMASTERS II, Paul Hardcastle keeps the music hot without resorting to hard-core and the vocals passionate but mellow; perfectly blending Jazz, R&B and easy listening. A MUST LISTEN with that special someone or just while relaxing with a glass of wine and a good book.
