The first time I heard Panic at the Disco's freshman effort, A FEVER YOU CAN'T SWEAT OUT, was when I borrowed it from my younger sister last fall in jokey preparation for a homecoming week stunt that involved my friends and I dressing up in tight pants, My Chemical Romance t-shirts, and black fingernail polish and pretending to be "emos". This should give you an idea of my attitude toward emo music and fashion in general. So unsurprisingly, I was entirely unimpressed by the band's run-of-the-mill punk/pop debut, and when the follow-up PRETTY. ODD. came out earlier this year, I never intended to give it even a first look.

A Fever You Can't Sweat Out

I don't think Panic will ever be able to live up to their debut album A Fever You Can't Sweat Out. It was great, incorporating classical music and electronic beats, which I'm a big fan of both. The songs had great lyrics, and it was all great for jamming to.

This set is awesome. The best part of it is the concert DVD. It has lots of interviews with the band members and talks about things never heard before. It's great. The extra stuff in it is cool as well. It captures the magic of Panic and shows how unique they are. Buy it!!! It rocks.

Rock n Roll and Hip Hop seem so homogenous these days. It's rare that a pop song both grabs my attention and expresses something so sharply.

This song is cool. It hits me like the first time I heard "Your Racist Friend" by They Might Be Giants or "You Spin Me Right Round" by Dead or Alive (two odd comparisons to be sure). Emotionally, this song hits the nail on the head and drives it in with one stroke. The song is honest, the type of honesty that forgets to control the emotions & isn't always soft spoken . . . in other words - Rock n Roll.
