Ghettomusick

After the huge sucess of Speakerboxx/The Love Below, Outkast is STILL releasing singles off the album. The 5th single, "Ghettomusick" is a really hot track with both Big Boi and Dre on it, with a bass that's really pumpin' and Big Boi drops a really hot verse in the middle. The song changes pace, with a couple nice Patti LaBelle sample, making Ghettomusick really interesting to listen to. Nobody can touch these guys musically, Ghettomusick proves it.

A bit more of a stereotypical rap album than the group's later work, which is probably why I didn't like it much the first time I heard it. I'm not a fan of stereotypical G-Funk, see, and that's all I heard in it the first time through. God, was I wrong. It's deeper than that, even though it's not fully immersed in the "alternative" thing yet. So even the more "playa-business" oriented tracks - "Ain't No Thang," "Myintrotoletuknow," "Call of Da Wild," "Claimin' True," "Crumblin' Erb," "D.E.E.P." - has OutKast's trademark dark, quirky, layered production. I ain't feeling what Outkast has been putting down for a while,but back when they first came out they was on it. this debut cut still is tight. the video version is better than the Album version. dug there lyrical&overall presentation to music making back in the day.
